Investigator's Club, the Library -- NFB

After kicking out everyone who wasn't a library aide, a Librarian, or incipient club member, Parker hung a sign on the outside door:

INVESTIGATOR'S CLUB MEETING
PRIVATE

Then adjourned to the counter, where the brownies, drinks, cookies, and fudge were.

Hopefully, more than just Marty, Zero, Janet and the Souled Wonder were going to show.

Bridge nods solemnly. "Absolutely, one hundred percent sure."

Rory bites her lip. "Did it say that he's good, or just...not evil?"

"Good," Bridge nods. "I mean, well, everybody, soul or not, has the capacity for evil. But Angel's not interested in just being not-evil. He wants to actively help people, you know?

Rory looks deeply disturbed by this information as she watches Angel.

"Oh. Hmm. That's...interesting." She glances back at Bridge. "And you're sure he can't be faking it?"

If Bridge were the type to scowl, he probably would. As he isn't, he settles for frowning slightly and sticking his tongue out at Rory.

"You can't fake an aura," is all he says.

Rory manages a weak smile. "Not doubting your abilities, Bridgey. Just...he's messed with us before. I want to be absolutely sure."

"Well, you can be. This kinda stuff is what I do best," he says with a smile.

Rory nods, frowning again.

"Huh. Good to know. You should tell Parker. She'd probably want to know."

"Yeah?" Bridge asks. "Think she'd believe me, though?"

"If you can convince me he's not evil," Rory replies, "then she'll be easy."

"Well, I meant about the part where I can read auras," Bridge points out. "I haven't kept it a secret but I haven't exactly explained it to lots of people either."

"Oh. Hmm. Actually, yeah, she should still believe you. Tell her you did it to me and to ask me if she needs proof or something," Rory shrugs.

"Wow, Rory. You are good!" he says, impressed with her logic. "I'll do that as soon things aren't so 'aaah!'" he waves his hands around vaguely.

"Never question my logic-fu, grasshopper," Rory says wisely, squashing down the thousand feelings that this revelation had brought forth.
