Spider is absent, although the cat is sprawled across the desk, looking smug. It is currently using today's attendance pad as a scratch pad - and not in the conventional sense. The huge screen behind it is lit with two lines of text.

Holiday traditions? The one memorable holiday tradition that's stayed with me throughout the years is the annual viewing of A Christmas Story. Now, I'm not a sap but how can one resist Ralphie and his red Ryder BB Gun? And how can you not laugh at the tongue stuck to the pole bit? And really, he's just a cute kid. The glasses, the blonde hair, the bright eyes.
