Janet wonders if he's looking for the chronological order the books are written in, or the chronological order they take place in. Or she would if she could read minds. Because for some reason about twelve years ago, publishers changed them from the chronological order they were written in to the order they take place in. And Janet's mun has had hissyfits about it ever since.

OMG, yes! It totally destroys the dramatic tension, when you have to wait until book six to find out that Professor Diggory was actually at the creation of Narnia! And--argh. *glares at publishers*

We did that when I worked at the library, had the new ones that were in 'correct' order.
