"He left me a voice mail and said he waited as long as he could," said Janet dryly. "I called him back and left him a voice mail that he should actually let me know when he was leaving next time so I could make sure to be there to say goodbye."
Sam probably thought that talking about it now would make Janet go eaiser on Daniel. Hah.
"Aw, permission? That's no fun. Though I have to say, Jack and Charlie did get permission before they knocked the wall down in our room."
"He waited as long as he could where?" Sam shook her head and began stood up on her tiptoes to stretch out her calf muscles. She was sore enough from moving to convince her that she needed to spend more time in the gym. "Daniel's a certified genius. He couldn't possibly be that much of an idiot, could he?"
"That's...so unlike them," Sam grinned. "But I like to have my permissions ahead of time--saves everyone aggravation in the long run."
"He showed up in the room, Jack said." Janet glared even though she wasn't mad at Sam. "Of course he can be that much of an idiot. He's Daniel!"
"Isn't it, though? I moved in the next day. While hungover." Janet snickered. "And of course you like to have permission ahead of time. You probably got it in triplicate too, didn't you?"
"He relied on Jack to give you a message?" Sam stopped moving and stood still, more in shock than anything else. "He's obviously killed some necessary brain cells somewhere along the line."
"I didn't get it in triplicate," Sam muttered. "Although I did bookmark the link."
"Well, he left a note on my desk." Janet rolled her eyes. "Jack was the one who let him in. And yes, obviously he's lost a few brain cells from excessive exposure to the ribbon device, I'm sure."
"You didn't?" Janet grinned. "Wow, Sam, we'll make a slacker out of you yet."
Sam snorted. "Yeah, because that's so much more effective. He's lucky it was your desk, that's all I'm saying. Otherwise you still wouldn't have found it."
"Yeah, Jack was all kinds of bored when I saw him sometime after that, which I guess isn't any more unusual than normal."
She leaned over to poke Janet. "Oh, shut up. Like you'd know a slacker if you lived with one."
