"Fraiser. Dr. Pierson. How was your Thanksgiving?" Parker fishes two CD's out of her knapsack, and hands them to them. "Copies of Zero's band's demo CD. Can I put it on the speakers? I won't have it loud enough to disturb anyone."
Parker grins. "They're really good. Punk's not my favorite thing, but here, listen--" She fires up the CD-ROM, and the following comes out of the computer's speakers.
Hidin' from zombies; floatin' on chairs Shot the librarian and no one cares-- Doesn't matter anyway!
Meow, meow, Is what he said Meow, meow In my head But I'm okay 'Cause we're so catty anyway...
Zero's voice is upbeat and growly at the same time, and the guitar work is fast and technically impressive.
"Present?" She was going to object that it wasn't loud, but then he said the magic word. "No problem, it's off, I'll be good, what'd you bring me?" She smiles gleefully. "I didn't think you'd remember. I was mostly joking when I said 'souvenirs' anyway."
Methos sighs in long-suffering pain. "I don't care how quiet it is. This is a library. You know. Shhhhhhh. No talking allowed. At the very least, I can keep it a punk-music-free zone."
He then grins at her. "I'd be delighted to have an autographed copy. And who said Parker was the only one getting presents?"
Parker is now tapping her toes, looking impatient. "All right. The punk rock's off. So... presents? For me? And Zero? And I hope Janet, because leaving her out would be rude."
"Hunh. There's not really a good place for them to play," Parker said, trying to visualize Dusted Bunnies at Spike's Pub, or Caritas. "Still, I'd like to see them again, when you guys have a job lined up. And it would be more fun with other people there."
