"Pretty good. I went to Pittsburgh and spent it with Angela's family. It was nice. I actually got to be a normal guy for a few days and not worry about Gremlins popping out of my sock drawer. How about you?"
"We had Thanksgiving in town," said Janet. "Nothing weird happened, but I think it was theorized that if something did go horribly wrong, it would be either vampire or zombie turkeys."
"Vampire or Zombie Turkeys? Isn't that kind of invoking the wrath of whatever screwy power controls this place? I'm soooo getting out of here before Christmas comes."
"This place? I don't know. Stuffed robotic bunny pretending to be the Grinch? Gremlins dressing up like elves? Something weird is bound to happen with this place."
Suddenly Marty's cell phone, which has been sitting on the table starts to vibrate, spark and then smoke. He pokes at it to make sure it doesn't catch on fire.
"Something weird always happens here," says Janet. She shrugs. "We deal and move on to the next unusual ocurrence. though gremlins dressing up like elves woudl be weirder than usual."
"Weird." Janet frowns at the cell phone. "Just keep it away from the books, okay?"
Marty pokes at the cell phone a couple more times. "I took it back with me to Pittsburgh and used it a couple of times when I was there. I guess it didn't like going back in time to 1995."
"Yeah 1995. I was expecting a lot of science fiction special effects when we left, but we just got on the train and that was pretty much it for my time travel experiment," Marty says with a shrug. "The 90's were exactly how I remembered it. Lots of flannel and grunge music."
Parker waves a CD at Marty from the counter, pointing to it and indicating that he should come grab it when he has a second, then goes back to doing something on the computer.
