Shop Class, November 22

As you walk into the Danger ~~Room~~ Shop, the first thing you notice is that the air is filled with the delicious smell of roasted turkey.

You then notice that Mac is cooking the turkey by hooking it up to a generator and letting the electric current do the roasting/shocking.

Also? The danger shop looks like a car repair shop.

Mac looks up from basting the turkey and points over to a very large refrigerator.

"In the refrigerator you'll find approximately 12 thawed turkeys. Your assignment today is to find a way to cook a turkey using the tools you would find here."

"I know you kids didn't sign up for Home Ec. But that's today's assignment. Now if you excuse me, I have yams roasting in a solar collector I built out back."

Mac puts the finishing touches on his turkey, carves it expertly with his SAK, and has the Danger Shop create a table where he puts down the carved turkey and all the required side dishes he made for Thanksgiving.

"Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Dig in and enjoy."

Anders manages to snag a drumstick for Cally and a couple of pieces of turkey breast for himself ~~(omgdirty!)~~ and hangs around munching contentedly; he's hoping Kara shows up to help him move the Pyramid equipment down to the gym like they'd planned to do. After all, the clock's ticking down to December 14 and they've got to kick their training into high gear, and fast.

Kara wanders into shop class to meet Anders, but spies the food. She picks up a piece of turkey and walks over to Anders. "Nice class," she says.

He grins and wipes his turkey-greasy fingers on his pants. "We don't always get food. Last week we got all messed up with smashed pumpkins. But it's pretty much always fun." Tilting his head in the direction of the constructed and ready-to-go Pyramid equipment, he asks, "Ready to start hauling? Or . . . wheeling, I guess? Cally said she'd help for a few, too."

"Great, let's get started," Kara says, finishing off her slice of turkey.

Lee arrives and rolls up his sleeves. "Here as requested. What's the plan?"

Kara gives him a smile. "Hey, we were just going to get started."

"Great. Just put me to work," Lee says with a grin.

"Just show me what to move." Cally says, scratching the back of her head.

"Prefer to move the smaller bits, though."

"Wanna help me with the goal, then?" asks Anders. "It's a little heavier than the other pieces."

"Teamwork, got it." She taps a finger on Anders' nose. "I can do that, sure."

"Course you can. We work good together." He grins and tips the goal back onto its wheels. "Ready?"

"Ready." Cally grabs hold of the goal and assists Anders in whatever moving is currently being required of her. "How far is it to the gym?"

"Hey, Adama." Anders gives him a brief nod. "Plan is simple, we get these down to the gym. After that it's not gonna take us more than a minute or two to get the court set up whenever we need it."

"Great," Lee says and starts a-lifting.

Kara nods and moves to grab one of the walls. "Nice set up. You guys did good." She tips it back onto the wheels and starts moving it out.

"Thanks. Wasn't too hard, really." He shrugs.

"Can't wait to see you two play, Anders," Lee says as he returns for more things to lift.

"Can't wait to play on a real court again," Anders replies eagerly. "Cannot wait."

"I bet," Lee says with a grunt, carrying off another unit.

"Did you ever figure out something to use for lines?"

"No, I'm thinking some kind of tape or something for now," he replies. "Should be something we can use that won't mark up the floor . . . bet Cally has some ideas."

Once everyone had eaten their fill, Sam asked, "Mac, do you mind if I pack up some of the leftovers and take them to the clinic? They've got a full house over there and would probably like a home-cooked meal."

"Sure! Go ahead. Though technically it's Garage cooked food, but they don't need to know that."

"Thanks," she said, already trying to come up with containers. "Let's see...Wilson, House, Jack, Logan, Rory...Rory again..."

Once the containers were full, Sam covered them and left them on the table while she grabbed her bag. "I'm off, then. Thanks again."
