I hope you all had an excellent weekend, class. Please pass your comparison analysis papers on Metropolis to the front of the room. Thank you.

Now, I have paired the class up in the following manner – and please move to sit with your partner, or in one case, group of three:

1) Veruca Cally, Beka Valentine

2) Lee Adama, Sharon Valerii

3) Bridge Carson, Sam Carter

4) Charlie Kawalsky, Aeryn Sun

5) John Crichton, Anakin Skywalker, Kara Thrace

For your next assignment – due in two weeks – I want you to write delicious crackfic a fictional story of your own focusing on some aspect of cyborg theory. It must make an argument pro or against human to cyborg and/or android relations (of any kind – political, social, romantic, etc).

By the end of class, I want you to have discussed with your partner the nature of the story you would like to write and whether it is to be pro or against human/cyborg/android relations.

If you have any questions, I'll be at my desk. Now get to work.

If she had any idea what her professor was referring to, Sharon was sure she'd laugh out loud. Really. Instead, she sits down next to Lee (who has enough personality to almost be tall enough to fit her unconscious agenda). "So, um... Anti, or pro-cyborgs?"

"Well... knowing our audience..." Lee says with a laugh. "Maybe it could be a mixed message?"

Sharon grins. "Good point. Hrm. Maybe something about humans and Cylons interacting..." She giggles, voice facetious as she continues, "I'm a Cylon and I'm gonna have your baby, sir."

"I know," Sharon sighs, "Poor thing, it won't ever have a normal life. Some will consider it the bridge between species, others will hate it because its--her eyes glow in the dark."

Lee shivers. "Oh, but how we will love our creepy baby despite how it tears us apart from both of our races!"

"Yes." Writing down quick notes in a neat, uniform, hand, Sharon considers, "What should we name the baby? Jackina?"

"Something ridiculously symbolic like Eve or Alpha or...yeah,... or does the baby even come to term?" Lee says with wide eyes.

"You think a radical, militant faction should abort the baby and lock the mother up?" Sharon considers, still writing notes in her notebook. "But why? She wanted her baby, does she love the father too much?"

"I'm thinking more of the issue of how does a machine and a human procreate togther? Maybe she has a miscarriage and the human doctor caring for her doesn't really care that much?" Lee offers darkly.
