I hope you all had an excellent weekend, class. Please pass your comparison analysis papers on Metropolis to the front of the room. Thank you.

Now, I have paired the class up in the following manner – and please move to sit with your partner, or in one case, group of three:

2) Lee Adama, Sharon Valerii

3) Bridge Carson, Sam Carter

4) Charlie Kawalsky, Aeryn Sun

5) John Crichton, Anakin Skywalker, Kara Thrace

For your next assignment – due in two weeks – I want you to write ~~delicious crackfic~~ a fictional story of your own focusing on some aspect of cyborg theory. It must make an argument pro or against human to cyborg and/or android relations (of any kind – political, social, romantic, etc).

By the end of class, I want you to have discussed with your partner the nature of the story you would like to write and whether it is to be pro or against human/cyborg/android relations.

If you have any questions, I'll be at my desk. Now get to work.

~~Three~~Two flyboys and a flygirl walk into a bar… One dances rather poorly and gets in trouble with the natives, the other starts a lightsaber duel (sullenly) and the girl kicks everyone's ass at cards and starts a fistfight. Yes. ~~RC's mun will be in her bunk.~~

Anakin passed his paper to the front as requested, then waited for Crichton and Kara to come over ~~and smote LJ for being an evil comment-eating h0r~~.

Kara scribbles on her paper. 'A girl in her viper killed all the cylons and saved the day.'

John comes in eating a lollipop. It's a good lollipop. Anyone else want a lollipop?

Anakin really wished he had a lollipop.

John can see the lollipop lust in Anakin's eyes so he offers one to Anakin. "All yours, man."

Anakin grinned and took the offered lollipop.

"So, any ideas at all for this?" he asked.

"Not a clue, dude." John finishes off one lollipop. "We can make ourselves robots and write about taking over the world?"

Anakin watched the Aeryn-Beka confrontation play out.

"Huh." He finally offered. "So. Robots. Talking over the world could be cool."

"Erm. Not to invade group turf here, but... I wouldn't mind one." Beka sighed. "This is a lame way of me saying I'm not going to try to cause any trouble for you. I don't like what was done. But now that it's done... well. You and Aeryn taking care of Angel is good and decent. I respect it."

Hearing this, Lee kinda tenses up and wonders how Beka knew.

Hearing the end of this from her seat by Kawalsky, Aeryn tries really hard not to grit her teeth.

She lets it slide for about two seconds before saying, "I'm so glad the situation meets your approval."

"I wouldn't expect anything less from you, Aeryn." Beka said tiredly. "For what it's worth, I was wrong." She went back to her seat without another word.

Eighth notices this all with interest.

Aeryn's not done, because it's been a really rough weekend and she's been waiting for someone to say something.

"You were," she goes on, not caring who's hearing it. "Completely. And a girl is dead, and two of your friends were sent to the clinic not three days ago! And now other people are stuck cleaning up a mess that you sat by and did nothing to stop from happening? For what it's worth? It's worth nothing."

From behind Aeryn, John whistles through his teeth slowly and opens another lollipop.

Aeryn starts to go back to work, then turns around again. "One more thing," she says. "If you or any of your little friends try to do something extremely stupid, like try to turn him back into a murdering psychopath, I swear that what Angel is going through is nothing compared to what I will make all of you feel."

She exhales, and turns back to Kawalsky. She feels remarkably better.

Beka heard every word that Aeryn said. Felt every word. If it were anyone but Aeryn, who she respected more than most, she might even have turned around and fought. But it wouldn't solve anything.

Instead, she said quietly over her shoulder. "I deserve that. So I'll just suck it up and take it."

Not even looking back, Aeryn almost laughs at the faux martyrdom of it all. "I'd expect nothing less," she says to herself.

Kawalsky sat back and watched with interest.

Lee watched with interest but wasn't relaxed about it, oh no.

Kawalsky totally would have offered Lee some *fingerwiggle* buttery toast to console him if he could have.

Lee feels that not even toast would alleviate the situation.
