Study Hall -- Friday, November 18th

Pool table, puppies, kittens, pizza, drinks, and loud music. Study hall is pretty chaotic today.

There is also a mechanical device spread out in slightly charred pieces of Sarah's desk. Anybody who looked at her badly scribbled notes might think it was a very crude amateurish attempt at a time machine.

Sarah is nowhere to be seen.

John sees that look in Anders' eyes and recognizes it as ~~staying up till 3am in the morning~~ Girl Scout cookie lust.

"Just glad it's Friday, I guess." He shrugs and opens the Samoas box. "And everyone should experience Girl Scout cookie goodness."

*coughs*4AMactually Anders pauses with a Tagalong halfway to his mouth. "Now, when you say 'Girl Scout.' Please tell me that's just a brand name and there aren't actually . . ." He starts squinting at the cookie.

"Brand name," John says with a laugh. "And I don't even think Girl Scouts make them. They're just really damn good."

"Okay, Crichton, I'm taking your word for it, but if I turn funny colors or anything I'm coming straight after you." Anders pops the entire Tagalong into his mouth and chews, wide-eyed. "Oh wow."

He grabs a Samoa and eats it whole, too.

John laughs. Another victim to the love of Girl Scout cookies. "Good, huh? I have no idea how they make these cookies so damn good. NPC Girl Scout Sally made a killing off of me last night."

"How many of these did you buy, dude? It's like everyone's eating cookies in here!"

"I bought...a lot. I wanted to stock up since everyone seems to love them. I gave a ton away this morning to students." John looks around and almost everyone is or was eating a cookie. "No one can resist the goodness of a cookie. Of course, we'll all have to work out with this and Thanksgiving coming."

"Speaking of." Anders tilts his head ~~but not in the Veronica Mars way~~ and peers at John. "What's this Thanksgiving thing about, anyway? All I get is it has something to do with food and pumpkins, and a couple of days off school. I have gotta study up on your Earth holidays."

"Thanksgiving is about food," John says and laughs. "No, really it's celebration of gratitude and family and friends. Giving thanks for the things you have and stuff. In America, it's a time for a lot of eating, football, and parades. It's fun!"

Anders grins. "Sounds like a holiday I can get behind. Definitely got stuff to be thankful for." He perks up. "Football?"

"Football, yeah!" John gets excited now. "Football's a sport, similar to pyramid except the ball's differently shaped, there's more padding, some good, hard hits, and a different place to put the ball. It's awesome. We'll have to watch a few of the games next week."

"Way bigger field too, from what I can tell." Anders nods enthusiastically. "Sure, bring it on. You staying over break, or what?"

"Yeah, I'm staying. I'm not bringing Aeryn home and subject her to my father again, that's for sure." He nods at Anders. "What about you?"

Grinning amusedly as Bridge bounces into the room (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh/376272.html?thread=17775824#t17775824), Anders shrugs. "Where am I gonna go? It's hardly worth the trip all the way back to Caprica just for three or four days, and I don't think either me or Cally can afford it anyway. You any good at card games? 'cause we're gonna have to amuse ourselves, and I figure maybe we Colonials can teach you guys how to play Triad. Not too good at it myself, but it's fun."

"I'm decent at some card games. War, Go Fish, Rummy, Spit and things like that," John answers. "Triad might be fun to learn. And we might have enough people to organize something small dinner wise in the dorms."

"Cool, cool. As long as I don't have to do the cooking. Is Adama staying over the break? Maybe we can con him into cooking . . ."

"Hey!" Bridge bounces over to where Anders and John are sitting. "What's up, dudes?"

It's obvious that he has way, way too much energy today.

"Hey Bridge," John says and immediately offers up a cookie. "C'mon, they're chocolate..."

(this had better frelling post this time.)

"Oooo, chocolate. Thin mints?" he asks hopefully.

"Yep, I got some thin mints," John says and pulls out a different box. "They seem to be the popular cookie in this place today. I'm gonna have a lot of tagalongs to eat on my own."

"Way more than willing to help with those Tagalongs, dude," Anders points out.

Anders raises an eyebrow in amusement. "Clean the cafeteria out of sugar packets, Carson?"

"What?" Bridge blinks. "No! Well, maybe."

Anders laughs. "Any new work lined up for ABC?"

Seeing Bridge and Anders together, Beka headed over just in time to catch Anders' comment. She smiled pleasantly. "I might be in a position to help with that."
