The Library is Open - 11/17

Methos is bemusedly staring at his new pet, a salamander -- the kind that lives in fire. He managed to find a glass terranium that can withstand high heat and the salamander is happily ensconced in it. A sign in front of the terranium announces, "Name the Salamander!" and slips of paper, pens and a drop box are immediately to one side.

Methos puts his head down on the collections desk. "Why am I here? Wmy?"

Parker pokes him in the side with one long, manicured nail. "None of that. You're getting sex from two people! You have to suffer! The Bible says so! And the Koran! And possibly the Talmud, but I haven't read it. So don't wimp out. Come on. Are you Don Juan or just a domestic housecat? Enquiring minds have to know. It's a matter of librarian assistant preservation!"

"Because we were put on this Earth to suffer," says Janet, laughing at him. "And if I'm going to be ignored in favor of people flirting in the library, then you're going to suffer for it."

Clearly, you were someone evil in a previous life. Possibly Hitler?

An' 'highly inappropriate' would be 'So how are they in bed?', though I think it's swerval that you're getting some ~~at your age~~. We're just tryin' to make sure we know enough of the swoo we don' wind up in crossfire hidin' behind the collections desk. The doctor has a sword too, you'll remember.

Parker nods. "It is swerval. I can't think of a better word. Swerrrrval. And while we're interested in the answer to the highly inappropriate question, you notice we don't expect you to answer it. Unlike the one about the 'arrangements' you have, which is already on the table. So. Talk!"

Methos lifts his head and stares at them. "I. Hate. You. All."

"And he's still stalling, do you notice that? Maybe the threeways melted his brain."

I'd noticed. Perhaps he's tryin' to shield our delicate young sensibilities. *snickers*

"Yes!" Methos says. Bellows, finally, as he lifts his head to glare at each one of them in turn. "I am currently shagging both the Doctor and CJ, with their express conscent. I'd even go for 'active encouragement'. Are you happy now?"

He then drops his head back on the desk with a solid 'thunk'.

*all but glows* Well done, Professor!

Parker cackles. "Extremely. For you, and for us. Honesty and openess make the workplace a happy place!" She leans over. "Now, see? Isn't it better when you don't try to lie to us? Or treat us like blind idiots? Or clueless little nitwits? Haven't you learned your lesson?"

"Yes," Methos says, his voice muffled. "Never, never, never attempt to have a PRIVATE life around you girls. GODS."

"Or if you do, keep it private. Jeez. You don't see me bringing my boyfriend in for a necking session in the stacks." Parker hops off her barstool, and pats him on the head. "Tell them we said 'hi', okay?"

"The very thought of them KNOWING about this conversation gives me chills. I will NOT be passing your greetings along."

"Hunh. Too bad." Parker gives him a radiant grin as she heads around a bookcase corner. "The Doctor will be *so* disappointed if he doesn't know how this conversation turned out."

"Mmm," said Janet, nodding seriously. "Yes, we're all such sweet, innocent young things."

"You lie. Oh, how you lie. We give you far too much amusement and do far too much work for you to hate is."

Jaent stuck her tongue out at him. It seemed appropriate.

"Is that any way to talk to the owners of your soul? Now, back to the matter of the people currently in possession of your body...."

[[*dies laughing* No, really. I'm dead. You killed me.]]
