Methos is bemusedly staring at his new pet, a salamander -- the kind that lives in fire. He managed to find a glass terranium that can withstand high heat and the salamander is happily ensconced in it. A sign in front of the terranium announces, "Name the Salamander!" and slips of paper, pens and a drop box are immediately to one side.

[blinks] The... kid? [turns to Janet] HOW long was I gone again?

No, no...Adam. I have custody of Jack Harkness. I'm his legal guardian for now, until we sort out some...problems.

You just enjoy trying to give an Immortal congestive heart failure. Congratulations. Can't say I know the kid, but he's lucky if he's got you going to bat for him.

How about my apartment, then?

[[Meanwhile, Jack is jumping up and down in my head going, "Don't need a babysitter, damnit."]]

Six o'clock? I can swing by Deb's... wait, it was closed last night, and I don't know if it is going to be open. I can swing by the Emporium and get some food.

[She raieses her eyebrow and looks sceptical] You're going to cook?

Just because I don't usually cook doesn't mean I can't.

All right then. You're full of surprises. I'll bring a couple movies and see you at six?

6 it is. [He braces his hands on the collections desk and leans toward her slightly, then smiles and settles back.] See you then.

Parker is watching this with a certain dubious air.

[Smiling, her eyes sparkling, she watches him for a moment] I'll see you then, then. Ok. Yeah. [Raising her hand to Janet and Parker] See you leter, ladies.

[She walks out, a pronounced bounce in her step]

Janet cannot respond as, though she is confused, she is also out of breath from laughing at the look on Methos' face.

Methos scowls at her. "Show some respect for your boss, Janet."

Janet raises an eyebrow. "Two days in the library, and at least half the conversations I get in are abruptly stopped when ~~CJ and Ten~~ someone decides they need to flirt ~~with you~~." She shakes her head. "If people are going to ignore me, then I need to get my amusement where I can."

~~CJ stares in horror as Janet morphs into her archnemesis.~~

~~Damn! My secret disguise was removed!~~

And here I thought you were all demon.

I love how Drusilla is CJ's archnemesis and the two of them have never met.

She loathes Dru for the insane meber of the Conservative Right that she is. That's what's wrong with her, right? She's not really a monster...*is stupid!naive*

Why, yes, that's right. Drusilla is a Republican. A conservative Republican. Less government! Down with social programs! Up the deficit and reduce taxes!

She's evil in a political sense. Really.

And she's certainly not a bloodsucking, soulless creature of evil. Not at all. You should just ask her some day.
