*The Tick was at his desk. Once everyone was in the class, he handed the quizzes out and gave the instructions.*

"Hello, class! Well, today is your quiz. If you didn't study, don't worry. There are three short essay questions that are mainly looking for your opinions and how you support them. Each answer should probably be at least two or three sentences, but as long as you fully answer the question, your answer can be as long or as short as you'd like. If you have any questions, just ask. Good luck, class!"

1. The Police, Courts, and Corrections are the Three Wheels of the Tricycle of Justice! Which Wheel is in front, which are in back, and why? *Tick had drawn a crude sketch of a tricycle for anyone who didn't know what one was. The basic look of a tricycle should be clear*

2. Vigilanteism. It is against the law. Under what circumstances, if any, is it okay to take the law into your own hands?

3. Betrayal is a powerful motivator, especially when those we care about are the ones enacting said betrayal. It can cause us to lose sight of what is Right and Just, and instead, act on our emotions and impulses.

Imagine that your someone you care for does something to betray you in front of your very eyes. You have the option of reacting in the moment (violently if you so choose) and facing the consequences of Poor Planning and Lack of Foresight, not to mention your own Unjust attitude - or, you can calmly take care of the matter in a way that allows all parties to tell their side fairly...all parties, that is, except perhaps you.

How would you handle this situation, keeping in mind that your personal agenda and Justice must both be addressed and should not conflict?

"Cheap shots?" Rory looks honestly confused. "I didn't pick on your past or whatever you think, Marty. I made a logical point. You made a mistake. So have other people. The fight wasn't about you or your past at all."

"I'm not saying it was! You know how Angela is and you purposely pushed her buttons. And I can't believe you totally dismissed what happened between her and Angelus. He threatened her twice! And *not* just because I did something stupid!"

"And I can't believe you're so arrogant to believe that just because he scared Angela, there's no doubt that he's guilty," Rory snaps. "Because Angelus upset Angela a couple times, and because he's a vampire, there is no way he couldn't be innocent?"

"I was fucking there Gilmore! And if Bristow took the evidence to Lamb, you damn well know it's for real!"

"Right, because Lamb is so very, very competent," Rory snorts. "I wouldn't trust the man to find me a metaphor in Tick's class, much less to actually solve a crime correctly."

"Lamb didn't do a damn thing! It was Marshall and Veronica Mars who took the recording to Bristow. Lamb just tried to take all the credit."

"Yeah, well, Veronica doesn't have the best track record either, with the whole accusing the right person thing."

"Yeah, but she eventually *did* get it right! And do you think it was easy for her to accuse the one person she cared about? Wake up and smell the coffee Gilmore!"

"Eventually," Rory says softly. "And you just made my point. She accused Logan, even though she cared about him, and was still wrong. How do we know she's right this time?"

"Once more with feeling? I. Was. There."

"And you said you didn't remember, Marty."

"Yeah hence the massive therapy sessions in town and the hiring of someone to figure out what happened. Not a pretty picture, but I remember everything now."

"Interesting how you remember that it was someone you never liked. Convenient," Rory says, her tone slightly derisive.

"If that was the case, how come I didn't see your boyfriend?" he snapped.

Rory's eyes narrow. "Low blow. And I don't know, Marty. Why didn't you see Logan? You seem to have arbitrarily picked out someone to accuse, after all."

"I'm not accusing Logan of anything, damn it! I'm just making a point. There are plenty of people around here that I can't stand. Crowley. Crane. Half the members of JA. But for some reason you'd rather believe a lying monster over your friends."

Marty just looks at her with disgust.

"Nice to see where I stand with you Gilmore."

He turns away and stomps off.

"This isn't about you!" she yells after him. "Not my fault you decided to get involved!"

She leans against the wall, and sinks to the floor.

I'm not going to have any friends left when this is over, am I?
