"I think the rest of the anxiety is knowing that someone a lot of us interacted with on a regular basis might be the kind of person who could kill us," she adds. "I mean, you might have killed people, but I'd like to think that you wouldn't kill any of us, unless there were seriously extinuating circumstances. Especially someone innocent, like Kitty."

He thinks about this a minute. "You're right. It's never the ones like Hank who are obviously not human that seem to be under discussion. It's the ones who look human but aren't quite. And I hear it coming from a group that's had trouble with this kind of thing before."
"I do what I can. I mean, I know safe walk is silly, but I also know there are little bits on campus like you two who aren't big and mean--or little and magical, or bad-tempered gunbunnies--and are scared. And I worry about the ones like you two, like Bagoas, who are small and are potential targets."

She shifts in her chair, thinking. "I don't think I'm a target. Mr. Phale at the bookstore did something to my necklace, and Angelus really doesn't like it. I've never had any problems with anyone else."
