Also, in a bout of badly needed early practice strangely timed holiday cheer, Sarah has made a huge amount of Christmas cookies that are laid out on the front desk for taking.

He smiles at her and rolls the six into the three. "It's like marbles, Callisto. Who needs a stick when you can use your hands?"

Realizing how that came out, he coughs and blushes.

Callisto only avoids bursting out laughing by great effort of will. "Like marbles, then?" She spins the eight into the four.

"By the way, John, has anyone ever told you you look adorable in red?"

John knocks the five into her eight ball. "Adorable, you say?" He blushes again. "Thanks," he stutters.

John bounces the eight ball off of four walls before it knocks into the two ball. And he blushes some more. "I guess I'm just lucky that way."

Tossing the three ball from hand to hand Callisto smiles "I'd say you're both lucky that way."

John picks up the four ball and clinks it against the pool table's edge. "I think I'll just paint my cheeks red when I talk to you, Callisto if you keep making me blush like this."

"Aha" Callisto grins "I will then have succeeded in my evil plan to make you wear make up in public."
