Ethics Class #5, Friday morning, 8-10am

Tara looks tired but happy as the students come in. She wears a scarf around her neck that doesn't quite cover a greenish-purple bruise.

"Last week we looked at power and responsibility. The first hour is an extension of that. I want you to divide into two groups. If your name has an odd number of letters, you're in Group A." She waves to one side of the classroom to indicate that the group should congregate there. "If your name has an even number of letters," waving to the other side of the classroom, "you're in Group B. Go."

"Mornin', teach," Angelus said as he came in, not quite awake enough yet. He nursed a cappucino.

"Morning," Tara replies. "Having trouble adapting to daylight hours after your vacation, oh creature of the night?"

"Vampires don't do AM," Angelus replied as he took a chair. He gave a look in Bel's direction. "Especially not after their good friends keep them up all night in a tawdry rented room."

"Tawdry?" Tara casts a sidelong glance at Angelus. "I didn't think you did tawdry."

"Normally I don't but one must when giving a friend a... helping hand." Angelus waggled his eyebrows.

"How very public spirited of you," Tara replies with a grin. "And may I ask who this friend is that you helped so compassionately?"

"Why teach," Angelus said, coyly, "You know I would never kiss and Bel - I mean tell."

He winked.

"Of course not," Tara replies, shooting a glance at Bel and then raising her eyebrows at Phoebe. "You're a gentleman. Of the old school."

"Very old school," Angelus agreed as he leaned back in his chair. "Not that I was much for schooling back then as such."

"Speaking of which... Maia Rutledge won't be attending Ethics classes any more."

"I'm stunned and in mourning," Angelus deadpanned. "What happened? She try to tell you she saw her future and it was a bad grade?"

"It was at the Dean's discretion," Tara replies. She lowers her voice, unwilling to share the information with any but her TAs. "She threatened me in my office hours. The Dean's removed her from the class, and she'll receive a failing grade."

Angelus's eyebrows shot up. "She did what now? What'd she say? And do you have a link?"

"It's not important," Tara replies, shooting a significant glance at the rest of the classroom. "But if you want the details (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh/325826.html?thread=15721922#t15721922) catch me after class, okay?"

"You got it," Angelus nodded. "Thanks."
