"This week you get to turn in your scavenger hunt items!" [OOC: Links below]

***

After the scavenger hunt:

Ted seems a little stoned, but he actually hasn't been into anything. He simply hasn't slept and is running on caffeine, sugar and adrenaline alone. What else is new? He's not as lucid as usual. Considering he's not normally very lucid, this may make him unintelligible at times.

"This week we're gonna learn about a most excellent band called 'Spinal Tap'. They're most famous not for their most excellent music, and it is most excellent, but for the fact that their ampliphiers go all the way to 11, so their music is louder. Louder doesn't always mean better, but in the case of Spinal Tap it does. When it comes to heavy metal music, louder is better.

This week's discussion will lead to next week's discussion.. unless I forget by then."

Ted plays some Spinal Tap as an example.

"So today we're gonna discuss how music makes you feel. For me, loud music, the kind of music that, like, makes my ears bleed and the side of my face go numb makes me feel alive.. once I regain consciousness I mean."

This week's discussion question: "How does heavy metal make you feel? What kind of music makes you feel alive?"

John starts the discussion. "Heavy metal music makes me feel...scattered. There's so much happening, so much going on that I can never keep up and just end up bopping my head along to the music and trying not to head bang. I'm more of a straight rock n' roll fan. Aerosmith, Queen, KISS, you know, the classics. That's my 'roll down the windows, turn the volume up, and let the wind ruffle my hair' music."

"Heavy metal makes me feel...bouncy? Like Rover, in a way. And really in touch with my scissors. The music of Cher makes me feel alive. Really. No, really!"

Callisto removes the hands she clapped over her ears about 3.5 seconds into the first song. "I've been in battles that were less discordant!"

After checking her palms for blood, she continues. "As for what music makes me feel alive, wardrums, always the wardrums the kind of stuff I grew up with I suppose, fast tempo, interesting beat pattern, gaida, chanting, sort of stuff that just makes to want to get up and dance."

"It be a little loud, which I like," Barbossa said, "and I do be likin' the powerful guitar riffs. I could do without most o' the torch songs, though." He scrunched up his face. "As fer what I like, I think a good sea shanty will always be my favorite. Useful fer keepin' time on a ship, and if yer lucky, about a naked wench."

"I quite like heavy metal, something to mosh to if you're feeling a bit stressed or whatever. I really like synth-pop personally, bands like Depeche Mode and Goldfrapp, they're good to dance to but have meaning full lyrics generally

"Are you from the 80s then sir, I didn't know that"

((also it's good Ted has learnt calling Paige 'babe' in front of Sawyer is a bad idea!))

"It's alright. I'm more of a Bob Marley kind of person. I guess I like the single guitar riffs and not this jumble of drums, guitar and just all around headache-yness."

I don't like heavy metal very much. It's too loud. I enjoy pop rock like U2.

Erm... what exactly does the song mean by "I'd like to sink her with my pink torpedo"? *scratches her head*

Sonia winces, then covers her ears when the sound becomes unbearably loud. She grumbles under the din.

heard better sounds coming from dying demons

"Vell...when the music is decipherable, it seems to have an interesting harmonic progression."

She shakes her head in a vain attempt to clear the ringing in her ears before continuing.

"I'm not quite sure how I feel about heavy metal, as it vere- haven't heard enough of it to say, really. But I do appreciate anything vith a good lute. Or viol. Oh, and that Italian, Palestrina- he really had a vay with counterpoint."

She nods, satisfied with her answer and completely oblivious to the fact that no one's probably heard of half of what she's mentioned.

"It's... energetic." Sharon admits, then remains silent through the rest of the discussion.
