Dream steps around the blue-eyed boy who is agitatedly trying to claw the doors open to unlock study hall and declare it open.

Belthazor shrugged. "I don't know. Phoebe left early and my pass only said yesterday, so...." He dropped his voice. "Do you know what happened? It's all kinda fuzzy, and Phoebe had no idea."

"You picked a fight with Crowley so he put a whammy on you," Angelus said, as casually as if they were talking about fashion. "So I told him if he touches you again I'll rip the world apart just to see the look on his face."

"I did? You did?" Belthazor frowned, thinking. "That makes sense -- he was fucking with Beka and Tara and made some crack about Phoebe. I wanted to find out what it would take to get him to leave them alone. But it get hazy after that. I've been having dreams, though...."

"Dreams about what?" Angelus looked at him with concern.

~~You're on my crew. Why are we still talking about this?~~

Belthazor glanced up at the ceiling, then looked back at Angelus and shook his head.

Angelus scribbed a note down on a piece of paper: Tonight? Your place or mine? ~~And if I had a nickel for how often that question's come up between us...~~

Belthazor wrote back: Yours might be better. Don't want Phoebe to walk in on us it.

You got it "How's Pheebs doing?"

"She was pretty upset last night, but she left early this morning for classes and I haven't talked to her yet," Belthazor said. "I don't think she's too pleased with Beka, either. She thinks she lied to her about what happened."

"Beks seemed to be getting that vibe," Angelus spread his hands, indicating he was disclaiming any responsibility with this one. "I've got no truth spells to test her, but her side seems to be she was trying to help."

"Speaking of Beka." Belthazor looked over to the doorway. "There she is."

"All we need is Buffy and I win alliteration Bingo for today," Angelus muttered.

"I'm getting the feeling she's avoiding one of us," Belthazor said. He looked over at Beka and gave her a questioning look.

"Off the top of my head I'm guessing the guy she hit with a rock."

"What the hell? She hit me with a rock and she's mad at me about it?"

"Alternatively," Angelus pointed out, patiently, "she's worried you'll get revenge."

Beka caught Bel's look, flushed, and looked away, but he might've seen a flash of anger in her eyes before she did.

Belthazor scribbled a note, wadded it up into a ball, and threw it at Beka.

What???

Beka ignored the note for a long time. OK, maybe it was like a minute. But long enough to let Bel know she wasn't in a hurry to see what it said.
