[OOC: Light day today because I have an insane idea for Thursday's class that has been brewing for WEEKS and I can't focus on anything good for today's class. Let's just take this as a day of transition. Class Info Post.]

*~~The Teacher of the Month~~ The Tick is at the podium as usual. It may be surprising to anyone not at Sunday's memorial service that Lockheed is in the room, occupying the shelf that he had frequently napped on in the past.*

Today's going to be a light day, class. What with everything going on, between the projects and... other things, I thought today would be a good day to open the floor to any questions you might have about Justice, our class in general, where we're going, who we are, or what we're all doing here in class or on Earth!

First things first, though. The project simulations were run in the Danger Shop on Sunday. Most of you were there. I'm sure you'll agree that they went well overall. But if you'd like to talk about where some of them went ~~hilariously~~ wrong, we can discuss that as well. You should have grades by next Tuesday ~~which should give Rory plenty of time to protect me from the nefarious grades!~~.

And I also have a reading for you to do for Thursday. *Tick gestured to a box full of books* This is ~~a book whose title was never specified~~ by ~~somebody, probably a British guy~~, one of the leading theorists in the field of Criminal Justice in the ~~somethingth, possibly 19th~~ Century. I'd like you to read the first 50 pages for Thursday and be ready to discuss just what exactly ~~the author~~ was talking about! It's a quick read, very open to interpretation, so it should be fun! ~~Yes, Thursday will involve a lot of strike tags.~~

"Thank you."

"You know, if CoyoteJaye hadn't told the babysitting service that the road runner was only doing it to kill himself, it would have worked.

Hey, where's Little Wooden Boy?"

Lockheed snickered from his shelf.

"Err," Tick began. "He won't be joining us."

"Is he sick? I bet he's sick," Jaye says seriously.

"Err... He's no longer with us. He, uh, caught on fire."

Jaye pauses, then says slowly. "He just has a fever, right?"

"Err... No."

Lockheed tried not to roll his eyes.

Rory stares in horror from her seat in the back.

"Littlw Wooden Boy is gone?"

"Err... Yes. There was an..." Tick glared at Lockheed. Lockheed snored. "... incident. I'm sorry."

Rory ~~wishes she could pull an Anakin~~ wants to cry out in anguish, but alas, is reluctant to do so in the middle of class.

She instead looks over at Lockheed. "What did he ever do to you?"

Vala reaches over to pat Rory on the shoulder, while giving Lockheed an angry glare.

Lockheed shrugged and gave an apologetic look, thinking /It was for the big guy's own good./

Rory wrinkles her nose.

"Well, at least you look sorry."

"It's okay, Rory," Tick said. "It's my experience that Little Wooden Boys show up when they're most needed and leave our world in flames shortly after. He did his job here."

Jaye slides down in her seat. "It's not like I offer every little wooden boy a cupcake, you know."

"I miss him, too, Jaye. But he did what he came here to do, I know that. He seemed satisfied with the comfort he brought people when I talked to him last before... the incident."

She frowns. "Well I'm not done with him! I haven't gone emo yet! I'm thinking of my future here!"
