Tara smiles worriedly as the students come in, checking face after face.

"Today's topic is power and responsibility, and I would like to remind you all that your grade comes from your discussion, not your presence. If you don't feel comfortable talking, write something down and hand it in to me. Being a silent warm body in the classroom is no different than not turning up."

[ooc: And I would remind you that I leave posts open for the whole week. If you post 'shows up and takes a seat' I know you're still alive, but you need to actually address the discussion topics to pass the class.]

Logan runs his tongue over his upper lip. "Scrabble," he says, edging closer to her chair.

"Really?" Rory asks, leaning toward him and resting her chin in her hand. She gives him a look of wide-eyed fascination. "I'm very good at Scrabble, you know."

"I would expect that of you," Logan says, taking her free hand in his. "Because you're so skilled with," he kisses the tip of her index finger, "words."

"Uh huh," Rory agrees, color rising in her cheeks. "I'm quite the cunning linguist."

Logan grins. "Thought that was my line," he says, and flicks his tongue across the tip of her finger.

"Why, I don't know what you mean, Logan," Rory says, resisting the urge to respond similarly. "I just meant that I'm excellent with word games. Any sort interpretation you might have..." She shrugs helplessly and grins.

"This conversation is really distressing me," Logan says solemnly. "I think I might need to," he flicks the tip of her finger again, "go into the time-out room. Care to join me?"

"Time out is good. I mean, if you're distressed," Rory casually allows her foot to graze his leg, "you really should talk about it. And I'm an excellent listener."

"I am, I'm deeply distressed," Logan says. He stands up and holds out his hand to her. "Come and listen. I can be quite the cunning linguist myself." He winks at her.
