Janet dragged herself from Criminal Justice to the library, unlocked it, and ~~tried to decide if she felt like working today~~ sat down behind the Collections Desk. She started checking in books very, very slowly.

My ears are burning. It kinda hurts. What's goin' on?

"We're not sure if the Library eats." Janet offers Zero a piece of chocolate. "Parker and I are leaving chocolate and coffee overnight to see what happens."

*nibbles at the chocolate* I'm not sure if it eats, but I think...I think it might run on coffee. Or the spirit of coffee. I'm not makin' any sense.

"No, that kind of makes sense," says Janet. "Which in and of itself should be freaking me out, but isn't. God knows the four of us run on coffee."

Janet thought for a minute. "Is the Library sarcastic? Because there's an overabundance of it here."

*snorts* That would explain our motley little crew, wouldn' it?

"You know, I'd thought it was an accident that four of the most sarcastic, caffeine-addicted people in this school ended up with library jobs," said Janet.

"If it wasn't, I'm going to--" She sighed and rolled her eyes. "Be really annoyed, maybe?"

Well, Professor Methos did choose us, so perhap it was just like callin' to like. Except--you volunteered, didn' you?

"I did," said Janet. "Remember the first day it opened up? I ended up standing on the Collections Desk to get everyone's attention. Do I even want to know what it means that I volunteered?"

Maybe it just means you're a nice person? *looks doubtful*

"Did I mention I really like to tell people what to do?" asks Janet, laughing. "Or was that just obvious from knowing me for all of five minutes?"

*laughs* I'd noticed.

"I thought so." Janet tried to look abashed. She failed miserably. "Occasionally I pretend I can rein it in."

"Hey Zero," Elizabeth waves. "What's this I hear about the Library having a crush on you?"

A crush? Where'd that come from?

I signed this weird contract by accident, an' now, I dunno, the Library really likes me an' wants me to do things for it. It's, um, very squallin' weird.

*looks across at Janet*

Is that why you want to attack people with your mallet then for not returning books?

*turns a shade not unlike that of her hair* Yeah. That wasn' really one of my best days.

*snickers* Hey, at least there's no pictoral evidence for the yearbook. Or is there? *tries not to look too hopeful*

Squall, I hadn' even thought of that, but there are cameras everywhere.

"There really, really are. And Mitchell's girlfriend is the kind to check," Parker said, trying to repress a smirk. "Cheer up. With that kind of rep, no one's going to be returning books late ever again."

*considers hiding under the collections desk until she becomes less notorious* Great.

*tries not to giggle* Maybe if you're lucky no-one on the picture side of things will think to look?

Yeah, I guess I'll just haveta keep my fingers crossed.

*hugs Zero briefly* If it's any consolation, Cam's just as embarrassed about it as you are.

Not really. I hate that I embarrassed him. An' I guess scared him a bit, too.

He's tough, he'll get over it. And he'll never bring his books back late again. I don't think any of us will.
