The Library Is Open (11/3/05)

Janet dragged herself from Criminal Justice to the library, unlocked it, and tried to decide if she felt like working today sat down behind the Collections Desk. She started checking in books very, very slowly.

"Oooh," says Janet. "I feel special." She grins back and offers him a piece of chocolate.

Methos accepts chocolate happily. "Thank you, Janet." He catches her eyes and holds them for a moment. "For everything," he adds softly.

"You're welcome," she says quietly. "You know, call if you need anything."

"And I need a note to get cleared on missing Criminal Justice last Thursday, by the way."

Methos leans behind the counter, grabs a sheet of paper, and scrawls:

"Ms. Frasier was unavoidably detained on library business last Thursday, 27 October. Please excuse her absence. Signed, Adam Pierson, Librarian."

"You're the best," said Janet. "Seriously, thanks. Though I should warn you, I think your minion mug broke last week during that freak lightning storm that came out of Special Collections."

She grinned. "Maybe you'll get lucky and we'll buy you something nicer for Christmas."
