The Library Is Open (11/3/05)

Janet dragged herself from Criminal Justice to the library, unlocked it, and tried to decide if she felt like working today sat down behind the Collections Desk. She started checking in books very, very slowly.

Sam nodded, leaning on the counter. "I know. I knew her a little bit, but having spent the afternoon putting the Danger Room Shop together isn't enough to...well, you get it."

She took another bite of apple, chewing thoughtfully. "I'm sorry that you know people who are directly affected by this, though. That's rough. You handling it okay?"

Parker makes a face. "Mostly. It's bringing up old nightmares, but that's all. I just hate having to be 'supportive.' I not cut out for it. I keep wanting to tell people it'll be okay, which is utterly ridiculous."

Parker stuck out her tongue at Carter. "Pffttt. Anyway. Memorial Service Sunday. Hopefully they'll catch the creep soon, and we can go back to plotting our own mayhem without the curfew cutting into it."

"Mayhem? I don't plot mayhem," Sam said, feigning innocence. "It just seems to find me. I knew I should have gotten an unlisted number..."

"Sunday. Okay," she replied, grabbing a piece of paper and pen from on top of the desk and writing the information on the back. "I hope they catch the person (or non-person) responsible."

"I almost hope they have," Sam shrugged. "Not that I want someone violent running around free and unpunished, but I don't want to find out it's one of the students, people in town, or one of the professors. I'd rather it was a vagrant."
