Padme waits for the seats to shuffle about.

"If you were out last time, just sit with any group and they will fill you in. Now... I want your groups to come up with a solution to this:'

"You are in enemy territory. You don't know the layout of the land, it's your first time in thise location. You had not the chance to do research and frankly, your current situation is unintentional. You and your group are trying to make your way through to civilization, or at least what you hopes pass for it. Suddenly, you are surrounded. They are armed. You are not.'

"What do you do?"

"Ahh, surrender," Anakin said. "A word that looks so good when you write it onto a report. Let's hope they'd rather communicate."

"I'm not very good at it, either," Aeryn admits. "It usually turns into me hitting someone."

Anakin gave her a sympathetic look. "And that never looks right in reports, either."

He cleared his throat. "All right, so we're surrounded, we've given them our best 'we're not here to hurt you, we didn't even know you were here' speech. If they liked it, it's all happiness and insane tribal rituals. If not...surrendering and possible torture and death." He looked at Aeryn and Chiana. "That sound about right?"

Aeryn smiles. "It does. Surrender," she begins, having real difficulty with the word, "can be a viable option as long as it gives you a chance to look around your surroundings and find out where you are and what you can use to escape. Maybe you can even grab some provisions. Unless, of course, there's torture and death."

"There tends to be some kind of ramp-up to the torture and death portion," Anakin said. "Shows of strength, tauntings, monologuing, the kind of things that can be used to plot an escape."

"Right. Usually they don't lead you straight to the torture chamber, or firing range, or pit full of death spiders straightaway. Their mistake," she nods. "And even then, they only give you an escort or two, they're relatively easy to take out."

Anakin rolled his eyes. "It seems to be a universal failing. Not that I'm planning on becoming evil, but you'd think there'd be a more straightforward way of doing these sorts of things. Asphixiation comes to mind." He shrugged. "Good luck for us, I suppose."

"And it's a list of shortcomings to avoid when we have our own prisoners. Not that I know anything about that."

"Just learning from others' errors, really," Anakin said, nodding. "Nothing wrong with that."

"In fact, I think it's a point in our favor. So we've surrendered and been captured, have escaped, grabbed enough to get by and I'll assume we get out because we're us. Depending on injuries, I think we're better for the experience."

"Agreed. All that's left is the paperwork." Anakin groaned. "Because there's always paperwork."

"I usually don't have to deal with that part," Aeryn says. "One of the joys of being an underling."

"I usually have to write it," Anakin replied. "One of the drudgeries of being a Padawan."

"Try Senate paperwork some time."

"The ones that have to be filled out in triplicate and translated into five dozen languages, then lost?" Anakin snorted. "Thanks, no."

"Do we have to write a report on this assignment?" Aeryn asks. "Because I think you just nominated yourself if we do."
