Parker is trying to organize the books alphabetically, but keeps getting distracted by the ones which have photos of Bali, Tahiti, the Greek Isles, and Hawaii.

"Seriously considering it, yes. Plus if the research project I'm working on doesn't pan out, I think I'll need an escape plan. Want to come with? Fiji's looking good." She cocks her head at a picture of a guy with arms almost as muscled as Lee's. "Scenery's pretty."

Maybe. That is some swerval scenery. *admires* Research project? Is this somethin' we could do in Independent Study?

Parker considers this, intrigued. "Maybe. Remember the project that had me diving into Special Collections earlier this month? God knows help would be good. And I'm sure there's going to be more problems of the same kind eventually. A group to at *least* look into this stuff...."

See, that's the whole idea behind Independent Study. We can help each other out, an' hopefully figure out some of the weird stuff that goes on around here. I'm surprised so few people are interested--it was just me an' Janet last night.

"I was over at Phale's Bookshop, checking on some books. I swear, between him and Special Collections, I'm amazed we having had a raving bibliophile convention yet." She shakes her head. "I think a lot of people are too busy freaking about rumors to have shown up for anything last night. A lot of stuff was cancelled."

Right, yeah, the Pryde girl. Heard about that. Hope she's all right.

I just wanted t'get some work done while the gremlin corpses were fresh. An' I still haven' been to the bookshop.

"I'll grab you next time, if you want. It's stalled anyway." Parker's looking depressed now. "A bit here, a bit there, and no one, NO ONE has this incredibly important... recipe," she shoots a look over at Adama, hoping not to be overheard, "even though everyone's heard of it. It's ridiculous."

"I hate dissecting things, they always smell so bad...."

"Thanks, and..." Parker tenses up, remembering Kitty. "Those rumors? Um, they're not." She scrubs her face with the palm of her hand. "I talked to Marty, and Alanna, and they're true. So. If I'm taking Professor Tick as a bodyguard into town, will you *please* be just as careful?"

Oh. Squall.

I'll be careful, but I'm not takin' a bodyguard. It's--for one thing, it's like a family thing. My parents tried t'raise us normal, an' bodyguards are not normal. For another, I don' see as anyone wants t'kill me.

Parker makes a face. "They are *too* normal, if you're used to them. They're just people who are trained, for goddsake. But if you won't do that, go in a group? Please? Because we don't even know why or how Kitty was killed, it could've been some random freak, and Zero... you're not exactly intimidating. Except with a croquet mallet."

*rolls her eyes* Whatever, this is shapin' up to be a silly argument, an' I don' even want to know why you think bodyguards are normal.

*pats her mallet* Got it right here. Don' worry, Parker, I'll be careful. I almost died enough times already last week.

"Because I've been around them most of my life. But I'm not going to argue this with you, I'll admit that most of the time, I was working on ditching them."

"Mallet *and* large group of people. Okay?"

Parker sighs. "God, I wish they'd just announce what happened and get it over with... but I suppose they're trying to investigate it, and trying to keep it simple."

They don' want to panic us. Right now, everyone's just jumpy an' a touch confused. I mean, students disappear all the time here, right? They come out an' say, "Oh, hey guys, one of the students died," it could cause a squallin' riot.

"I suppose we should be glad about that." Parker sighs. "Just please God, no riot in here. I'm sick of cleaning this place up. You missed the electrical storm aftermath when you were gone."

Squall, no. If there's a riot I say we come in here an' lock the doors. Janet said somethin' about the storm. D'you think it coulda been one o' the SC books?

"Probably. Cats, storms, it's temperamental, and we still haven't seen that one professor with the beard come out of ithere, have we?" Parker frowns. "Maybe not the best place to hide, then. We'll just stick to the library when the revolution comes."

It seems to like us--an' have you seen my contract? I should be safe back there, an' maybe I can make it behave. The library's the safest place on campus, I think. For us, anyways.

*a sudden, momentary expression of intense calm comes over Zero's face*

It agrees. I'm still gettin' used to this. But, um, yeah. The Library really likes me.
