NEWSPAPER MEETING

Note outside the cafeteria door:

For those who didn't see the edit, the newspaper crew meeting is now in the Journalism classroom.


William sits on one of the desks in the classroom, waiting a little anxiously for others to arrive. He holds onto his notebook tightly.

"Monday will just be publishing," William assures her. "It shouldn't take too many people to run off copies and distribute."

"Perfect. Well...um...I hate to run off before the meeting's over, but I actually really need to get back to my dorm. If there's anything else, could you give the information to...Veronica, I guess, could get it to me, or else drop it off at room #305?"

"So do you have any ideas for anything I can write? Or any way I can help?" I say, having slightly drifted away in my own thoughts. "I used to make up a paper when I was little, with my sisters."

"You can write some articles," William says, "sometimes, if you like. But it's important that we only report the truth, or as close as we can get to it."

William blinks and eyes her. "I've been starting to look around the library. The newspaper is really my only outside hobby, aside from reading and such."

"I love to write. I love a good story." I grin and bite my lower lip nervously, and then back off. "I'm sorry. This is all new and exciting. I guess-" I laugh, "I guess I'm overcompensating for nervousness."
