Chasing History's Monsters [Friday, Period 1]

When the students arrived, they'd find Annja and Arya standing in the front of the classroom, their postures somewhat relaxed. They waited for their students to settle in before beginning.

"Welcome to Chasing History's Monsters, I'm Annja."

"And I'm Arya."

"We're here to teach you about monsters that can be found all around us and that history, is in fact, full of them. Hard to believe? It turns out that quite a lot of them are based in history and have historical significance."

Annja and Arya had a lot of experience in that area.

"Since it's the first day, I thought we could start off with basic introductions - name, class and what you consider to be monsters and which ones you want to know more about."

"I'm Alex Aaron, I'm a freshman, and I'd say a monster is something like..." Alex trailed off, scratching casually at his jaw, before saying in tones of innocence so pure butter wouldn't melt in his mouth, "a horse with eight legs, maybe?"

This was in no way directed toward another student in the class if he was there, and if you believed that, Alex had a bridge to sell you.

If Loki could kill Alex with the power of his glare, he would. But, sadly, he was not gifted with that power.

He was still giving it a good go, though!

"Hi, I'm Tara and I'm a senior," Tara said. "I think of demons as monsters, but I've been learning there are some nice demons too. And I want to learn about ... anything that might still be around."

My name is Lion-o, I'm a senior, and I would consider a monster to be any sort of creature with evil intentions," he said. "I understand that figuring out a creature's intentions might be difficult. But I'm sure people on this world might consider me to be a monster at first, even though I wouldn't hurt anyone."

"Bobby Drake, senior, and... I'm not too fond of Norse gods of mischief," he added with a scowl. 'Not too fond' was maybe an understatement. In his annoyance, he'd sort of forgotten to answer the second part of the question, oops.

Because Bobby was the kind of person who held on to petty little gripes like "that one time he was kidnapped and tortured in the name of controlling a bunch of Frost Giants". Which reminded him...

"Frost Giants also suck." He added,scowling at Loki. Because see above, and also there was the time the creepy cultists tried to sacrifice him to one... or that ever-present fear in the back of his mind that he might end up just like them one day if he let his powers get out of control.

"I'm Shira, I'm a sophomore, and.... I'm not sure what I'd consider a monster," she said honestly. "But I liked the idea of the class when I heard about it, so I want to know more about... well... anything."
