The Library Is Open (11/1/2005)

Janet walked into the library, opened it up, and sat down behind the Collections Desk, where she promptly began playing on the internet and eating chocolate working.

Parker turns her head to look at Janet. "That's a shock. Just business? You're sure he wrote it? It wasn't forged. People do that sometimes, you know."

Janet raises an eyebrow. "Why, yes, people do in fact do that sometimes." She shrugs. "Just something about a phone call from an old friend and business that needed to be taken care of. It might actually be nothing sinister--for once."

He owes me. Oh, does he owe me.

Parker somehow managed to shrug while still collapsed on the counter. "When is he coming back? Or do we have absolute power for the rest of the month?"

"Who knows?" asked Janet. "Enjoy it while it lasts, I guess."

Parker nods, then pushes herself away from the counter. "All right, then." She grimaces, rubbing her eyes, and grabs a few things to shelve.
