The School Campus, Saturday Noon
It was as if the Nothing had heard Principal Winchester's and Belle's announcement that morning. It smashed harder into the forcefield, which flickered but held its ground. Then it smashed into it again, and this time the flicker gave an inch of ground.
Soon, the forcefield was flickering constantly, sometimes budging, sometimes not, but one thing was clear: the Nothing was closing in, and whether it be five, ten, or fifteen minutes, campus was not going to hold.
It was time to move.

Re: The Library - Special Collections
She was dropping the bag on the ground, for now. She had gotten here. Hania was alive, and safe. That was all that was required of her. She didn't care much about the rest.

Her Aunt was here. Not quite her father, but she was very fond of her aunt, as much as anyone could be at not-yet-three-months-old, and so Hania was going to settle for making unhappy noises and continuing to fuss instead of outright screaming. For now.
"I had hoped her first adventure would be more pleasant," Alice said. "Rabbit holes and tea parties. She'll never wish to go on one again."
