Books. Coffee on a little wheely cart. Even some non-crumbly snacks set out on a table in the hall, with a little placard set up reading, "Do not bring near the books."

And the research continued.

Beyond refills of coffee and the rare snack run, Lex had lost all track of time, not that he had a whole lot to show for it. Not even stubble.

At least unlike the last time he'd buried himself in research like this, he wasn't missing out on any last chances at quality time with anyone.
