Library [Thursday]

It was an exhausted Belle who sat behind the circulation desk today, stacks of books at her side as she still, patiently, went through each one.

There had to be something.

And at the back of her mind, the thing she'd seen in Special Collections niggled. Not the beasts. The Nothing, fizzling out. She knew that meant something, but she hadn't found the application yet.

At around four AM that morning, Ender had come back to the library. The past week or so, he'd only come home at night because he'd promised Ben he'd reserve a few hours for him - to eat, rest, and be there.

But now there was no point to it, and so he'd been sitting here with this stack of books since morning, consuming nothing but the occasional cup of coffee.

Isabel had a book and would occasionally read a few pages. When she wasn't doing that, she was staring at her phone and debating calling Wyatt. Except she was afraid of what she'd do if the call didn't go through.

Lex was currently going through ever dustier books, a set of the Cambridge Latin Course open for reference beside him. A straight Latin-English dictionary might have been a more useful choice, but he didn't want to let these books out of his sight right now.

Kitty was back once again, though she was beginning to think whatever there was to be found wasn't actually in a book. It didn't stop her from trying, though.

And her coffee was brought from home, because from the sounds of it, The Perk and JGOB were not places to go for it right now...

Parker was back again, tired but thinking over Special Collections, and how big it was, and wondering again if it was really all *in* there, or if the Special Collections went to another place. So now she was researching Special Collections itself.

Scully wasn't sure that this was doing any good by now, but she was determined to keep looking.

Wesley spent the morning here as usual, poring over books that had yet to prove useful. Around noon, he reshelved what he'd been looking at and headed for the town meeting. That, at least, had the potential to reveal something.
