Belle couldn't believe it had taken her this long to think of this. She blamed the exhaustion clouding her brain, but a possible answer was looming there at the other end of her library.

Of course they hadn't found anything, out here where the books she understood lived. But why would they? These books dealt were normal, and while they spoke of otherworldly things, Belle knew where the dangerous material was kept.

So she'd emerged from her office (nearly tripping over Gabrielle's gift (and her heart melted a little at the thoughtfulness, but this wasn't the time), tying her hair back and looking more awake than she had in a week. She stopped by the circulation desk to tell Gabrielle to keep things under control here as she moved towards Special Collections and stopped at the edge of the entrance in.

She wasn't stupid enough to go in alone, but she also hardly wanted to drag anyone else in. So she cast a glance around, hesitating. She'd only pause a minute, but she needed to see if there was anyone else she could or would take with her. The idea of bringing in students caused her to pause a fair amount.

Ah, an actual adult. Tyrion would be sticking to this one.

"Have you ever been back in here?" he asked doubtfully. He didn't mind the age of the books, but he did waddle faster when a shelf started to growl at him.

"Once or twice, never on projects of my own," Ghanima replied, sidestepping some scurrying encyclopedias as they crossed the path in a neat little line. "If I came in on my own, I might never come out again."

"I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life in a library," Tyrion said. "Though perhaps not this one. This one seems likely to end me before I end it."

"The written word is always dangerous," she said in agreement. "The danger here, however, is a bit more literal than most places."

Pun intended.

Tyrion, like all brave men faced with a pun, groaned. "Usually it's the things you don't read that can do you in," he commented, pausing just for a moment to stare at a shelf of atlases that looked for all the world as if they were breathing.

"I'm Tyrion Lannister," he added, glancing up at his companion. "When the world isn't ending, I teach a strategy course."

"Atreides," she answered, glancing over at him in return. "Ghanima Atreides. Currently teaching War & Peace with Professor Shunsui, but I've covered history, strategy, cultural studies...a wide range of estoric studies."

"It sounds it," Tyrion said, hurrying past the atlases and toward a deep wall of scrolls that his fingers itched for more of a look at. "I can't come up with a useful strategy when we don't even know what the enemy is, can you?"

"If you have a routine that the enemy may have observed, change it. Vary your routine, become more aware of your surroundings and go nowhere alone or unarmed," she mused, ticking things off on her fingers as they walked. "Nothing for a frontal assault, but we can at least shore up some of our own defenses."

"Good principles, none of which has been helping in the least against this thing," Tyrion pointed out lightly.
