Today I want you to begin working on a pair of speeches, both addressing the same topic. One, you will imagine the audience is a group of politicians from whom you want money....the other, a group of casual friends at a picnic who you are trying to convnince. Go.

What kind of status are we talking about? Social? Economic? Or does it not matter?

You're gonna have different ways of communicating with people, depending on your status. Talking up to someone you're probably gonna be a lot more polite and formal. Talking to someone of the same status you're gonna be a lot more casual, more relaxed.
