Speech Comm

201--Speech

Today I want you to begin working on a pair of speeches, both addressing the same topic. One, you will imagine the audience is a group of politicians from whom you want money....the other, a group of casual friends at a picnic who you are trying to convnince. Go.

Today, I'd like you all to play role reversal. When you speak to me, speak as if I were your best friend. When you speak to other students, speak to them as if they were Dean Bristow.

The question of the day...What is the role of status in society and how does it impact communication?

Status helps maintain our society. *leans back in the chair, slouching slightly* It's not quite as fixed as some other societies, like the Indian caste system for example.
