Ethics [Tuesday, November 29, 2011]
Anakin'd had even more difficulties getting across the causeway this morning and was planning to leave Rory a message after class to let her know that he'd be staying in the hotel and would really prefer if she and Juliet joined him as soon as possible. Not that he knew what traveling across an unstable indimensional...whatever the causeway was...would do to a pregnant woman, but he'd noticed the board of the missing getting fuller and it would kill him to put their pictures up there.
So he'd been more than slightly distracted by current events to come up with a lesson plan that dealt in the world of the hypothetical today.
He leaned against his desk and began speaking. "Many of you have been affected by the wave of disappearances that are sweeping through various multiverses. So far, we haven't found any connections to link the people and places that have disappeared--" or a way to stop it, but Anakin wasn't going to bring up that pesky little detail. "Since we're in ethics class, I thought today might be a good time to discuss the why that might be behind this."
Even in natural disasters, people asked why. He was almost glad that the people noticing disappearances was limited: it meant televised evangelists hadn't started blaming the problem on general godlessness or some other drivel.
"Why do you think this is happening? What do you think might be behind it?" He glanced from one face to another. "There are no wrong answers here because we don't know anything. I realize that emotions are running high right now, so please try to keep this a civilized discussion."

Re: Discussion! [11/29]
Still, she didn't have any idea what it could be and just thinking about it made her feel sick and hopeless and utterly useless.
She ducked her head and sat there silently, trying very hard not to embarrass herself by crying. Again.

The many ways in which Hank's universe was different from a normal, sane one had already come up in conversation, right?
