Ethics [Tuesday, November 15, 2011, 1st period]

After receiving Ben's message on Saturday, to say that Anakin was a little anxious to see what had happened to the droid babies over the past week was vastly understating things.

Anakin had never really that lesson about letting things go and he'd always had an affinity for building his own friends droids.

None of that anxiety showed on his face as he breezed into the classroom and leaned against his desk. "So I hear it was an interesting weekend," he said, sounding a little dry. "It gives us an excellent opportunity to talk about how our morality can evolve over time. Something you thought was icky and wrong as a five year old--kissing other people, for instance, or taking regular baths--can be part of your everyday life as a teenager."

Especially the bath thing, Anakin hoped.

"And while children often play at raising other children through play, they aren't really that equipped to be primary caretakers for another living being." So thank the Force they'd had droids. "Tell me about your adventures as parents this week and how that shifted over the weekend, or if you'd prefer, discuss three ways your views have changed on the world since you were a child."

"I had a lot more trust when I was little," Mercy said. "The world wasn't as - frightening, maybe, as it can be now. And I was a lot more comfortable just going up and talking to people."

"I'm a lot less wary of people now," Luke said because he had been terrified of mortals and immortals alike thanks to his parents. "And I realized that just because I'm young it doesn't mean I can let older people walk all over me. And I also learned that family doesn't necessarily mean the people you're related to."

"I think I'm a bit more realistic now." Kenzi tilted her head. "I thought I could completely take care of myself at nine. Which, I did okay, but... I was lucky bad things didn't happen to me back then."

Hank thought hard. "Well, I forgot a lot of stuff," he answered. "That counts as a difference, right?"

"I understand people a little bit better now," Toby admitted. "And that I can't just blurt out what t- I'm thinking all the time. Also that, maybe not everyone's trustworthy but... sometimes I need to take that risk," he quirked a smile Kenzi's way at that last bit.
