Bod was still shaken from the events of yesterday. He'd expected Silas, if anyone, and he'd gotten someone he'd never expected to see again. And now, as a new day had dawned, he was realizing that it hadn't been a dream. Scarlett was here and, in fact, she was standing beside him behind the circulation desk, looking over the books he was checking in. She asked a question every so often and Bod asked questions of her as well but it was mostly quiet.

Bod still wasn't sure what to think of all this and he wasn't sure if he was ready to forgive and forget. As a text buzzed on his phone, Bod realized he probably wasn't going to have a lot of time to think on that whole issue. It was Kate's birthday and he had both gifts and kisses to give her as well as a...surprise she probably wouldn't really like.

Why could Parents Weekend never be easy?

Belle was there, with a tall young man with large blue eyes and blond hair peering over her shoulder as she showed him things at her desk. She wanted to be in her office for any students who might have questions or parents visiting, but part of it was just wanting to spend time with Adam.

Occasionally, she would pick up books and ask him to read from them, gently helping him with larger words.
