Student Council Elections, School Lobby

Technically speaking, there wasn't really a need for an election, but the students had put so much effort into their campaigning that it seemed a shame to not put out the ballot box anyway.

If nothing else, it would give Zoe the chance to spend some time outside of her office and really see how the students were doing. If she ended up with some baked goods out of the deal too, that would just be a bonus.

"VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOOOOOOTE!"

Whoever let Kenzi have a megaphone should probably be shot.

"VOTE WES! VOTE ANNIE! VOTE PETRA! VOTE TOBY!" Who else was running that she liked? "UM. VOTE! ROCK THE VOTE, PEOPLE!"

A tired Wesley reached to try to take the megaphone from her.

"I think that's enough," he said firmly.

"Hey!" Kenzi protested, batting at him. "Mine! My megaphone! We don't have a Vote Van, I should get to do this!

Now, Wesley wasn't exactly sure of this, but since Kenzi was Canadian, he figured she probably didn't know either.

"I believe there's a federal law against campaigning outside a voting booth," he informed her sagely. "As your big sibling, I cannot in good conscience let you subject yourself to prison time."

Usually.

"What? It's a Student Council campaign, Wes!" Kenzi stomped her food in a little circle. "You're guessing! You're British! You, you just want my megaphone to use for yourself!" Kenzi didn't even believe that last one. It didn't prevent her from looking five and trying to hang onto the megaphone like grim death.

Okay, fine, so she figured it out. That didn't change the fact that there was no way he was letting her continue with the megaphone.

"Really," he said dryly. "I want to use the megaphone?"

Honestly, Kenzi.

"Miiiiiiine," Kenzi wailed, jumping up and down. "VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE!" she tried to shout, fingers clutching at it.

Okay, this was getting embarrassing.

"Kenzi," he tried again, more sternly this time. "You're being very childish."

That was likely to win him favor. Oh, wait.

Kenzi stuck out her tongue. And concentrated on letting her entire 99-pound-weight drag onto the megaphone there. "You're being very bossy! VOTE WES. BOSSIEST BOSS EVER. EVEN IF HE SPOILS THINGS."

"Kenzi!"

Okay, that was a whine. At least he wasn't stomping his foot.

"Do try to contain yourself."

"I'm not running for StuCo, I don't have to," Kenzi complained back at him. "It's *my* megaphone!" She got a crafty look on her face. "I promise to do it outside?" Maybe if he couldn't *see* her doing it, he wouldn't mind?

"It's a megaphone," Wesley reminded her dryly. "One tends to hear it from a distance."

Okay, here was an idea.

"If you give me the megaphone and walk away, I'll teach you to use a rifle next weekend."

Oooo. Shooting things. Loudness now. Shooting things. Loudness now.

Kenzi finally let go of the megaphone, but shook her finger. "If you don't hold up your end..." There would be ghettoblasters at dawn, dude.

Sam paused on her way through the lobby. "Did you just say 'vote rock'?"

That was it, Sam was totally doing a write in of "rock" for every seat.

Kenzi paused. "No, but now I'm adding it. VOTE ROCK! VOTE ROCK! VOTE ROCK AND ANNIE AND TOBY AND WES AND PETRA AND..." Wait, what was that really preppy guy's name? "THAT OTHER GUY."

"You clearly have strong political principles."

"I'm enthusiastic about our system," Kenzi said, nodding seriously. "VOTE ... UM. HA. VOTE MOMO B. CHACHA!" So he was dead, so what. It was a great name.

"Who's Momo B Chacha?"

"Dead crazy dictator from Petra's world. Cool name, no? VOTE ROCK. VOTE WES. VOTE FOR CUPCAKES!"

"I gotta say, student council around here is way more interesting than it was at my old school."

Kenzi rested the megaphone against her knees. "Even though there's no, you know, actual competition going on? Since we don't have excess candidates?"

"That actually, like, adds a whole new level to the thing."

Kenzi snickered. "The fear... that someone else might campaign at the last second! The attempts... to look confident! It really does, kind of. Running against imaginary people, instead of just the people who signed up." She held up the megaphone again. "VOTE iCARLY BEST OF THE WEB!"

"We already won that award, actually. Had to fight off evil Japanese comedians."

"Way to go." Kenzi held out her fist for a bump. "What's on tonight's agenda? Think you'll have StuCo results to report? Oh wait, you could make them up, it wouldn't matter."
