Student Council Elections, School Lobby

Technically speaking, there wasn't really a need for an election, but the students had put so much effort into their campaigning that it seemed a shame to not put out the ballot box anyway.

If nothing else, it would give Zoe the chance to spend some time outside of her office and really see how the students were doing. If she ended up with some baked goods out of the deal too, that would just be a bonus.

"VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOOOOOOTE!"

Whoever let Kenzi have a megaphone should probably be shot.

"VOTE WES! VOTE ANNIE! VOTE PETRA! VOTE TOBY!" Who else was running that she liked? "UM. VOTE! ROCK THE VOTE, PEOPLE!"

A tired Wesley reached to try to take the megaphone from her.

"I think that's enough," he said firmly.

"Hey!" Kenzi protested, batting at him. "Mine! My megaphone! We don't have a Vote Van, I should get to do this!

Sam paused on her way through the lobby. "Did you just say 'vote rock'?"

That was it, Sam was totally doing a write in of "rock" for every seat.

Kenzi paused. "No, but now I'm adding it. VOTE ROCK! VOTE ROCK! VOTE ROCK AND ANNIE AND TOBY AND WES AND PETRA AND..." Wait, what was that really preppy guy's name? "THAT OTHER GUY."

Dave was handing out buttons he had made over the past couple days. They said

VOTE DAVE!
But it's okay if you don't.

At this point Annie knew she'd made it on Student Council, but that was not going to stop her from going down to the lobby. What, was she going to give off the impression that she was a slacker just because it was a guarantee? Nope. Don't think so.

Besides, at her last school, she wouldn't have been surprised if she ended up magically off the ballot. She wasn't taking chances here.

So she was there handing out buttons and looking particularly cheerful.

Between getting ready for the Club Fair and Club Fair itself, Petra didn't have much time for campaigning, but she did manage to squeeze in an appearance in the lobby late in the morning.

After Quinn was shutting down her station (http://fandomhighdorms.livejournal.com/2131315.html) in the dorms lobby, she wandered into the school bearing the leftover donuts and a smile.

"These are for the administration," she ~~sucked up~~ said, as she offered the box to Zoe. "How did things go today?"

The combination of donuts and ~~sucking up~~ kindness got a smile out of Zoe as well. "I think they went well, considering no one will be going back to their room disappointed," she said. "I'm looking forward to seeing how the council works together."

"I think we'll be good," Quinn said. "I mean, the campaign got kind of crazy, but we all want what's best for the school, right?"

"Principal Winchester?" Petra asked as she approached bearing a cupcake. "I wanted to give you this as a token of appreciation for setting all this up."

"Oh, how very colorful," Zoe said, gladly accepting the cupcake. "Believe me, it was my pleasure after seeing how you all went out with your campaigns."

"I just employed a lot of glitter," Petra said with a 'no big' wave of her hand. "I'm looking forward to the council. Unless someone staged a last-minute campaign or something, I mean," she added wryly, although, again: two people running for three seats. She figured she was pretty safe.

Rilla stopped by to vote before she dropped Jims off at daycare, so she still had the baby in his basket as she approached Zoe. "Thank you so much," she said a little shyly.

"I'm not sure what you're thanking me for, but it's probably not necessary," Zoe said, peeking into the basket. "Well, isn't he adorable," she said, giving Rilla a curious look.

"Oh, this is Jims," Rilla said. "He's a warbaby I'm taking care of until his father returns from the front. He's not mine."

She'd learned to get the important things out of the way quickly.
