Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Some parts of the East Coast might have been freaking out about a hurricane, but there was no such madness going on in Fandom. Sure, it was a little hot out, with the sun shining and not much breeze happening, but all the milk and toilet paper on the island was safe, and that was important, right? Besides, once the new folks started learning about their new home, there'd be more than enough freaking out to go around.

The usual main attraction had been set up first: a large buffet of food and drinks had been laid out next to all the information the new arrivals would need, and then the blue and gold tables and chairs had been arranged across the rest of the lawn. Everything was just about done when the shuttle arrived, and it was time for a picnic once again.

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"No. I used to be in 514, so it won't be much of a move for me," Bruce said. Also, he didn't keep much in his room. Except for the fancy clothes. "But once I take care of that, I could give you a hand with moving your stuff. Where are you right now?"

"Down in 315," Chuck admitted with a wince. "There's a couple flights of stairs to make you regret offering to help. But I don't have too much." Mostly comics, and they were thin and easy enough to move around.

"And I wouldn't mind a hand when it comes to that."

"Two floors isn't too bad," said the tall workout nut. "I'll be down to help after the picnic."

"Right. Of course. Two floors?" Chuck shook his head, making an attempt to seem slightly less pathetic. Pfft, stairs. "Nothing."

... Yeah, these two had a very different idea of day-to-day fun.

They really, really did.

"Oh, I should probably mention this at the start. There may be some nights where I get in late, or not at all. If I get in late, I promise you won't even hear me." He had trained for that. "But don't worry if I don't show up at all unless you don't see me for a couple days."

He would be spending most of that time at work in a cave, naturally, but he wasn't going to mention that part.
