Much like last week, it was only Tahiri who waited at the causeway for the students to show up this week.

"It seems Master Skywalker is still occupied this week," she told everyone once they'd assembled, sparing a frown for the students who hadn't returned yet, either. "Which is a shame, since this is the last class and I'm sure he would have enjoyed putting you all through something especially difficult."

Although given the town across the causeway, how difficult could it possibly be? Don't answer that.

"Anyway, it's my understanding that this particular time period on Earth is notable for its cultural, er . . . quirks," Tahiri continued. "Which is what you'll all be dealing with today, so have fun, possibly learn something, and try not to die."

The sweeping-arm gesture she made as she stepped away from the clue box wasn't nearly as dramatic as Anakin's might have been, but she wasn't even going to try to match that anyway.

"Most of the time it hasn't been half as . . . um, dire as the class title makes it sound, either," Tahiri confided. "Honestly, the competition part was optional if you ask me."

"I was a little nervous when I saw the title," Mercy admitted. "But really other than those horrible sulfury burger things, which left me sick in bed for a while, it wasn't bad at all."

"Ugh. I can't believe he made you eat those," Tahiri said sympathetically. Which was rich coming from someone who actually liked some of what passed for Yuuzhan Vong cuisine, but shh. "Was the rest of Coruscant okay, though?"

Mercy blushed a little. "I, um... was so miserable I didn't notice as much as I should have. I actually kind of threw up on one of the jedi's feet."

"It was pretty humiliating," Mercy said. "Just missed doing the same to Professor Skywalker. I probably shouldn't have kept eating, but you know, I was just too stubborn to wimp out."
