How to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse - Wednesday

When class entered the Danger Shop today they'll that the zombies had returned. And as usual they were frozen in place just waiting for Columbus's control to be activated.

What wasn't usual was that everyone was in a parking lot. At night.

"We're going to go over two rules today," Columbus said as he motioned to the cars. "The first? Is always wear a seat belt. That might seem like a strange rule to have when facing a zombie apocalypse however as the population dwindles you need to make sure you take care to use proper safety when dealing with... just about anything. The other rule is to always check the back seat. No matter what you do when you get in a car... always check the back seat. Just trust me on this."

Columbus then waved to a row of cars at the other end of the parking lot. "Your assignment today is to get into a car and escape the zombie horde. Without dying. Try not to do that please?"

Yeah, Sam didn't drive. Sure, he'd taken his test a few years ago but he tended to use his skateboard to get places and he let Frank do the driving. So, this would be interesting.

Sprinting to the car wasn't hard, he was quick and he'd had experience dodging things. Getting into the car and getting it going? Also not too hard but man, once he started hitting high speeds, he was all over the road and struggling just to keep himself from crashing into things.

Luckily, he'd remembered to put his seat belt on.

Chloe had never driven a car in her life.

This was going to be blatantly obvious in about ten seconds.

Bart had done this before. Driving. It was easy. The fact that the last time he was behind the wheel of a car it ended up careening off a cliff was not important.

He sat in the drivers seat and stepped on the gas. Nothing happened. He remembered to shift gears. Didn't work. Locked the door. Unlocked the door. Seatbelt on. Lights on. Nothing. He was forgetting something. He just knew he was forgetting something.

How did these stupid things work, anyhow? Driving was always such a slow way to get around.

Dave ran to a car. But before he got in, he looked at the back seat through the window. And there was a zombie in there. It looked almost peaceful. But rotting. And horrifying.

So he ran to the next car, made sure it was clear, and hopped in the front seat to drive away.
