Talking Is A Free Action - 21/7 - Thursday

There was something written on the board when students arrived for class today.

villainous monologues

"Now, some of you all might have experience with this subject," Deadpool said. "Either giving or receiving. Possibly dirty."

He didn't judge your kinky ways! Much.

"You know how it is, their nefarious plan is mere seconds from completion and they have the plucky hero right where they want him. And they just wanna lord over 'em. It's slightly less expensive than therapy or comic book collecting. Which, as we all know, is only one step down from crack."

He held up a comic book. "Deadpool volume 2, issue 41 is available August 10th!"

Helpful.

"Enough shameless self promotion! Partner off," he demanded. "One of you will be the babbling villain and the other the helpless hero. And of you really want to get into character, try shouting a lot. It's the super cool thing to do! Just ask Doctor Doom. Though, with him, it could be an unfortunate speech impediment..."

"There are worse things than a quick death."

Alexander considered this, as well, which naturally made him consider the fact that he hadn't exactly vanquished his enemies by killing them, either. It made his stomach knot up a little; he frowned. "This is also quite true," he said quietly.

Then he cleared his throat and tried to push past it. "But a quick death is probably the best way to ensure that your enemies do not attempt to foil your plans again."
wrongkindofsith: (If I make sure it's okay)

"Only if you don't think they'll be of more use to you alive." Cara kept her face blank, pushing anything she was feeling deep down where it didn't matter.

Alexander had the feeling that both of them were pushing something down, something much more grim than should be inspired by a Deadpool class. He cleared his throat. "That's where they make their mistake, I think," he said. "They think they're keeping you alive long enough to only get what they want, but they don't seem to realize that some people can only be pushed so far, and their arrogance only seals their fate."

It was only grim if Cara was willing to acknowledge its existence, which she very rarely did.

"And in the meantime they talk. A lot."

And Alexander tried a faint smile there, in an attempt to lighten up the mood if only in the slightest.

"Let's hear it, then," he said. "What sort of things do they say? I guess I have been fortunate in the fact that my villains don't like to mince words."

Unless those words were if that bedpan isn't emptied by the time I return, you're dead.
wrongkindofsith: (Not actually listening to a word you say)

"It's useless resisting. You're hardly worth a rescue attempt. This is all for your own good," Cara rattled off far, far too quickly.

Yes, there was no real lightening up this mood no matter what Alexander may try. He leared his throat a little.

"This is harder on me than it is on you?" he offered. "It does not matter, for if you expire, you are easily replaceable; I will simply have to put another through this instead?"
wrongkindofsith: (Someone has to hold the wall up)

"Threatening friends and family should get a reaction if they think you're capable of following through on it."

Alexander nodded. "The thought that someone else might be put through what you're exposing the hero to is usually enough to keep the hero going longer. It's a double-edged sword; it may keep them weak and incapable of fighting back, but it might also give them the strength to finally do something about it."
wrongkindofsith: (You will all die for this)

"I didn't say you'd get the reaction you'd wanted."
