Library, Tuesday!

Today, Rinoa got her work out of the way quickly so she could return to her delightfully trashy book, which was a collection of some girl's memoirs. Most of the seemed to be about her getting very drunk and having sex with different guys, and some hilarious mishaps that ensued. This book ruled.

She hoped the librarian wouldn't think badly of her for reading something so ... unliterary? Maybe she should grab something classical and hide the other book inside it.

... What? Jono was leaving this evening, and was making a point to stop by to annoy as many friends on the island as he could possibly get away with before shipping himself back off to jeers and flying garbage in London.

Rinoa was un-annoy-able in her current state, which was, setting the book down in order to bounce around the circulations desk and go for the impulse hug.

"For you, absolutely," she laughed. "I have all three of his books, and then that other series that other guy wrote? It's not as good, but the cover's prettier anyway."

The past year that he'd lived through, both on the island and off, had at least done a half-decent number on the amount of confidence that he had in his ability to not light his friends on fire.

"Hey there, Sis," Jack said cheerfully as he approached the desk. "Just thought I'd drop by and let you know that I survived my first and hopefully last animal transformation. And I can honestly say that I will now or never want to have a dog's life."

"You were a dog?" Rinoa laughed. It probably wasn't nice to laugh at your little sibling's misfortunes. Rinoa was okay with not being nice. "Were you at least a cute dog? Did anyone get pictures?"

Jack could laugh about it. Now.

"Actually if you watched last week's iCarly episode you would see a stellar performance by me," he said with a grin. "Right up until I changed back. Into a bear costume."

There were so many words in that sentence that Rinoa wasn't following. Probably best to start at the beginning.

" 'I, Carly?' " she said. "You're Carly?"

He got the title role of bear costume?

"How would the bear costume have still fit?"

"No, that's the name of the show," Jack tried to explain. "It's called iCarly. And I have no idea how I ended up in a bear suit. It just fit."

"I'm telling you now!" Jack laughed. "And yes, iCarly was totally the name of a bear. It was a very complicated plot involving pudding. You had to be there."

Rinoa will probably punch him if she found out the truth.

"What kind of pudding?" Rinoa asked. These details happened to be important. "Wait, the name of the bear was I-Carly? And not, like, Carly, and the title was 'I, Carly,' like it's a pronoun and a name? Was the bear eating the pudding or making it? And it doesn't count if you tell me now. You should have called me so I could have seen your grand debut."

Those were the rules. The ones she made up five minutes ago. Don't worry, the rules would change as soon as she felt like it, or forgot about them entirely.
