And on that note, I have to take a step back. As much as I'd like to defend him to the last... I can't relly explain his actions, either. He had reasons, certainly, that's not in doubt at all.

*smiles* And I wouldn't have it any other way. Meddling may be my profession, but meddling with people is another thing entirely.

But, as I said, I'm sorry. I've apparently dug up more than a few hurtful items in my little time here, and... well, it was unexpected, and I cannot apologize enough.

No...you really can't. I have a hard time believeing a smart guy like you didn't think that your little visit would cause a world of problems and pain. [her smirk changes gradually to a genuine smile] I suppose I owe you one as well, for being so harsh with you.

Well, road to hell, and all that. I should know by now that anywhere I go will end up with disaster and doom, but... You always have to hope that it won't, don't you?

Otherwise, you end up afraid to poke your head out your own front door, and I refuse to be that paranoid, I do.

Call me an optomist,but I prefer to think of every day as an adventure and every moment an opportunity. Things never go as planned, and even when bad things happen, we learn and grow. Now, here...get comfortable and I'll lecture you like I do my students. [She laughs] Ten says I'm never off the clock. I suppose he's right.

You shouldn't be so hard on yourself, you know. You'll regret it later.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm a perfect optomist, me. Always want to see the best in everything. Wouldn't travel, otherwise. Wouldn't be stickin' my nose where it doesn't really belong, otherwise. *he smiles*

Life is an adventure. Life isn't meant to be all "go to work, eat, sleep, and watch telly". You gotta go out and live, do things you've never done before, go places you've never been...

...but sometimes you look for familiar faces. And that's what I'm doing here.

Because I don't like leaving relationships with good people on the wrong note, that's why. Never one to leave something messy behind, if I can help it.
