The classroom was perfectly normal when everyone arrived. Desks, chalk board, that weird projector thing hanging out in the back... normal. And it was gonna damn well stay that way.

"Hello and welcome to Talking is a Free Action, kids. Today we're gonna start at the beginning with introductions," Deadpool said, emphasizing the word with spirit fingers. "Yeah, yeah. You've been doing it ever since you arrived here, but have you been doing it right?"

Well, kids. Have you? Didn't think so.

"Say you've busted onto the scene with a dramatic pose and witty one liner, but no one there recognizes you in all your inherent awesomeness." Which had totally never happened to him. "So, what do you do then? You make 'm know about you with good marketing."

A beat.

"It also helps if you have a good writer at the time. Damn you, Way."

Frat boy razzum frazzum...

"Ooo, try starting out with your name and a catchphrase. I'm Deadpool, the merc with a mouth. It gives you a taste and leaves you wanting more. Another example would be Wolverine whose catchphrase is 'I'm the best at what I do and what I do isn't very nice,'" he added. "But that leads us into what I call The Meatloaf Conundrum. Where we're all left wondering what that really means. What is it that he wouldn't do for love? Why has science not solved this mystery? Curse you, Reed Richards!"

...moving right along.

"Aaaanywho. I want you all to find a classmate and introduce yourself with a witty catchphrase. Find multiple classmates for extra credit! You need to build buzz or else you'll just be another Adam dollar sign ampersand little at symbol star ing X. And no one wants that."

See, Nathan's trouble here was going to be deciding which catchphrase of his to use. Did he wanna go vulgar and shock people? Did he wanna go honest and surprise people? Or did he wanna make some shit up just because he could?

"Nathan Young and I've pissed things that look better than you, mate."

Yeah, he was gonna go with that as a catchphrase.

"You should see a healer then, that's usually a sign of some kind of rotting disease." Obviously, Cara was terribly impressed with Nathan's catchphrase.

Nathan blew Cara a kiss because, well, he still thought she wanted him. "Now, now, if you wanna see what I'm packing in my pants, you need only ask. Assumptions are just gonna make you look like an ass."

No amount of brainwashing could make that so. "Unless it's horribly deformed I doubt there's anything in them that could interest me."

"Maybe not now but soon," Nathan joked, smirking. "You pay my pants enough attention so a guy's gonna make connections. It's okay if you wanna keep it quiet. It's cute just like you are."

The attention she'd paid his pants was mostly violent, aggressive attention but Nathan decided it was still attention.

Nathan was lucky that Cara had enough restraint not to pay them that violent, aggressive attention in a classroom.

"Is it hard being delusional?"

"Is it hard wanting me as much as you do?" Nathan countered easily.

"Not hard at all." It was extremely easy to deal with non-existent desires. "I imagine there's a lot of that going around."

"You'd be surprised," Nathan said, smirking smugly at her. "You didn't deny wanting me so I'm just going to assume you're long simmering feelings for me are tearing you up inside and making you conflicted. It's okay."

"And here I was thinking that was nausea."

"Maybe you're pregnant," Nathan quipped breezily. "Might wanna use protection next time you let a bloke get close to you."

"And you might want to shut your mouth before you find out just how painful not dying can be." Amazing how a voice could got from (relatively) good-natured mockery to actual flat threats without even changing volume, wasn't it?

"Oooh, forceful," he said, giving his fingers a wiggle in her direction. "Must have hit a nerve there. If you pop out a little boy, you should name him Nathan."

He smirked at her but at least stopped after saying that. It was something.

Regardless of the fact he'd stopped talking, Cara very studiously ignored Nathan, since if it was bad form to beat up your classmates in class, it was worse to kill them...even if it wouldn't stick.
