Anyone who might have been nervous about showing up for the first day of a workshop with a worrisome name (and two exclamation points) to find an intimidating-looking teacher would get a pass on that today; rather than Anakin waiting for them all by the London docks they'd find Tahiri, hands tucked behind her back and her feet bare as always.

"Hello, everyone," she said rapidly but clearly once the students had assembled. "Master Skywalker's away today, but he'll be back next week. If any of you haven't gotten a chance to explore our new neighboring city yet, now's the day you get to do it."

She gestured to the clue box she stood beside. "Here's how this works: you have two tasks to complete by the end of the class period before you come check in with me -- no, I'm not telling you where to find me yet. Figuring that out'll be part of your job. And I'd really rather not have to explain any roster changes to Master Skywalker next week, so please." She stepped away from the clue box and gestured to the class. "Please try not to die."

Being excessive about something.

Head into Vauxhall Gardens and find your way to one of the dance pavilions, where you'll have to attire yourself properly and learn several of the dance steps of the time period. Once you've mastered a couple of these to the instructor's satisfaction, you'll get your next clue.

Your clue leads you to the London Post Office, where you get to choose what kind of wheeled transportation you get to deal with, and how.

Under the supervision of the coachman, help load one of the mail wagons. What is and isn't allowed on a mail coach is pretty strict, as is what goes where in the coach, though the guards have been known to illicitly sneak deliveries into the lockboxes to make a little money on the side. Once you're done, the coachman will give you your next clue.

If you're feeling a little more adventurous, try your hand at driving a light one-horse buggy through Hyde Park to Speakers' Corner, where you'll have to find the placard telling you where to go next.

Whether you chose to load or drive, your clue should lead you to the Marble Arch, where Tahiri will tell you how you did today.

She will if you need it; she'd really rather not have to explain to Anakin what happened to one of his students when he gets back.

Wesley Wyndam-Pryce

The dressing... didn't take all that long, actually. All Firekeeper had to do was look expectantly at one of the female attendants until she helped lace up the dress Firekeeper selected. The dancing itself was easy, the steps similar to the sorts of dances Elise had made certain she knew in Hawk Haven.

London? Oh, Wesley knew all about London. But dancing? Not so much. Still, he rather thought his accent and his comprehensive knowledge of the area helped to sway the instructor in his favor, because he got out quickly enough and (clumsily) raced over to get his next clue.

This horse wasn't as intelligent as the ones in Fandom, but that didn't mean she didn't get the message imparted by Blind Seer's fangs nipping at the air near her hind legs loud and clear, urging her to go faster.

The decision to drive the buggy was prooobably what did it for Wes' place in this race. Because he sucked at it. Badly. The navigation aspect was easy, since he actually knew how to get there, but... yeah, he wasn't even a great driver with a car. With a buggy, he was that much worse.

Another place he knew how to get to! London, whoo!

Upon arriving at the Marble Arch, Wesley put on his very proudest expression as he sauntered up to Tahiri. Slowly, even, because he was that confident.

"Hello!"

Wait, were those seventeen of his classmates over there? Couldn't be...

Totally cracking up at how Wes is a London native and failed so hard at this. Because it makes perfect sense.

"Hello, Wesley," Tahiri replied with a smile that took a moment or two, and was more than a touch apologetic. "You're . . . um, eighteenth today."

Sam Puckett

Yeah, Firekeeper was going to have to ask Tahiri for help before the activity even started.

To use the term "ask" loosely, anyway, as all she did was scowl at the piece of paper containing the first clue and hold it out to Tahiri without a word.

What!? No! This was his city!

Then again, his one-horse carriage had broken down. Twice.

"Oh," he said, mildly surprised. "Eighteenth."

Firekeeper's arrival would be difficult to miss, heralded as it was by the sound of a rather panicked horse skidding to a stop.

She rolled her eyes as a young man came to lead the horse away, frowning disapprovingly at her and Blind Seer. As if they could help being saddled (heh) with a timid, stupid animal.

"How we do?"

"You mean I have to get all girly?" Sam pouted. "I suck at being all girly."

This wasn't actually entirely true. Sam had been a pageant girl, after all. She had a bit of trouble with the petticoat, but otherwise got through it pretty easily.

As for the dancing, Sam already knew plenty about dancing, and seriously, these steps were way easier than tap.

Tahiri had been expecting this from her friend, of course, and was fully prepared to read the clue; the rest of the clue-holders along the route had been instructed ahead of time to do the same if they encountered the girl accompanied by the very large dog. (There might have been a little Force-persuasion involved, both to get them to comply and to make sure they went along with the "very large dog" theory.)

"I was expecting you," she teased lightly, taking the paper from Firekeeper and reading the clue aloud. "Don't worry; people will be able to tell you the next clues out loud."

Sam went for the buggy.

Denizens of Hyde Park beware.

"Get out of the way!" she shouted at them, as the galloping horse careened through the park. "We're bigger, we're going to win in a fight!"

That would be Sam, throwing herself from the hurtling buggy as it went by the Marble Arch.

"Did I win?" she asked, once she'd managed to roll to a stop. Her dress was ripped and mud covered, and she'd lost at least one of her gloves, but she'd gotten to the Arch pretty quick, she thought.
