Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

In order to give people a place to get away from the traffic jam of the buffet and information tables, most of the chairs and tables for guests were set up further out on the lawn, under a tall blue and gold tent. There was plenty of room for everyone to sit down and enjoy themselves, but it might not have all been dry. Did we mention being grateful that it was just water falling from the sky?

"Wow! I've never met a Lord of the Thundercats before! Or even just a regular Thundercat. I an Ursa Major once. He was really grumpy. Of course, that's probably because Snips and Snails woke him up. The Great and Powerful Trixie was supposed to vanquish him, but she was too scared so my friend Twilight Sparkle had to do it. She was amazing!"

Pinkie Pie tended to just run off on tangents when they came to mind. She'd get back around to the regular thread of conversation eventually.

"That's... interesting," said Lion-o, not quite sure where this conversation was going. "So, you must be new to Fandom, or else the squirrels were really distracted because I haven't heard you mentioned on the radio yet."

Nowhere. Extremely rapidly.

"Squirrels are pretty easy to distract, I think. I'd have to ask Fluttershy. She's friends with all the woodland creatures, even the ones that live in the Everfree Forest. If Twilight hadn't gotten rid of the Ursa Major, Fluttershy totally could have."

"Especially these squirrels. They have a weakness for rum," said Lion-o with a smirk. Yes, he was actually enjoying this, even if he was just trying to keep up. "It must have been tough for you to leave all of your friends behind."

"Oh, it was. But Princess Celestia asked us all to go out into the world to teach our special talents as a favor just for her."

"So you are going to be be teaching?" Lion-o guessed.

"That's right! You're a very good guesser, Lion-o!" Or, you know, it was because she'd just basically told him. "I'm going to teach my students how to throw the best parties, ever!"

"Well, that will be different from a lot of the other course offerings," said Lion-o. He wasn't really into parties, but he was sure the workshop wouldn't be boring.

"Oh, I hope so! I'd hate for my students to think I'm not teaching them anything new!"

"I'm sure that most of the other students will find it, uh, very useful," said Lion-o, amused.

"I think so, too. Parties are wonderful things! They make ponies so happy!"
