Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

In order to give people a place to get away from the traffic jam of the buffet and information tables, most of the chairs and tables for guests were set up further out on the lawn, under a tall blue and gold tent. There was plenty of room for everyone to sit down and enjoy themselves, but it might not have all been dry. Did we mention being grateful that it was just water falling from the sky?

Alexander had returned to the island from his brief return to Daventry earlier that morning, and he had to admit that it weighed pretty heavily on his heart. He wasn't quite sure what it was, but his stay had reminded him of everything he had there at the castle and how little of it he had gotten to experience before coming to Fandom Island, and part of him wanted to stay and appreciate it. It probably didn't help that he and Rosella had spent a good deal of time talking about exploring out to find the Land of the Green Isles, and before he knew it, it was time to come back for his next semester.

So he was quiet, well dressed in a cloak to protect against the rain, leaning on the edge of the picnic and looking in with a quiet thoughtfulness. He didn't even let himself hope to scan the crowd for a familiar raven-haired princess this time. His luck hadn't served him yet; why should it now?
