BWI - Portalocity Lounge [Saturday Morning]

It had taken two and a half pep talks from her father to get Miley to be at least sociable today, the last half of which she was currently reading over text messages because her father couldn't figure out how to send messages that were greater than the character limit. Still, "sociable" was a far cry from her normal bubbly self. But she still had to be nice and talk to people, and she would, even if that talking to people was occasionally interrupted by texts from Lilly. (Hey, she had to read those! They could be important!)

She took a seat under the "Fandom High" banner in the airport lounge, with her three glittery pink suitcases and matching cosmetics bag all laid out on the floor in front of her. There. She could do this. If she could maintain a double life for four full years, she could survive boarding school. And maybe tonight, the president would call her back and manage to get her back into Seaview somehow!

...Hey, a girl could dream.

"He moved on! Abandoned us to go to greener pastures," Deadpool whined. "Now I'm stuck being written by everyone who wants to boost their sales. I'm the new Wolverine!"

This was baffling. But fascinating. Also, somehow, it sounded vaguely wrong. "Hey, you stay Deadpool, Mr. Deadpool. Don't let any guy tell you that you gotta be a ... some kind of animal or furry or something in order to be awesome. The swords work on you."

"...I'm not a furry. That's Beast."

"Good for you!" Kenzi said with alacrity. "I'm sorry Fabio abandoned you, though." Pause. "I wish I'd had a sword the last time I got dumped."

"Faaaaabian. And I've had these babies forever." A beat. "Even before DC stole my actor away..."

"Dude!" Poor Mr. Deadpool. Kenzi didn't have a heart of stone. "You gotta find someone who appreciates you for you. And the pajamas and weapons and shit. Don't they have singles bars on this island we're going to?"

"But I'm a single paaaaarent!" Deadpool, stop lying. It wasn't nice.

"Oh please, they have groups for My Gay Single Dads Meet-Up on the internet," Kenzi said sternly. "Pull up your pajamas, man! Get the kid a playdate and go out and get some!"

"But then I'd only end up finding someone who is on the dee elle and then it would turn into some horrible drama that only Maury Povich can figure out with his tough, but firm way!"

"And then you make a couple thousand bucks selling your true story to the tabloids! Where is the bad here? Think of the publicity! Think of the children! You could be a role model!"

...why was she giving the man with the swords a pep talk? Because there was nothing sadder than a sad pajama man, that was why.

"Yeah, but Nate would probably get pissy about it and then I'd have to sleep on the couch..."

A beat.

"I've broken that couch and fixed it with duct tape. It's not comfortable, let me tell you."

"Waaaait a minute. You're hooked up already?" Aha! "You don't miss Fabian and the actor at all, do ya? Well-played, my pajama'd friend. Well-played indeed."

"Hey now, I totally miss them." Deadpool sniffled. "Even if that movie was so shitty. Ryan Reynolds is the only one to have ever been inside me.'

Yeah.

"From a characterization standpoint."

A beat.

"Oh! And Nolan North.'

"No fucking way. RYAN REYNOLDS?"

"He's always wanted to do it!"

"You are messing with me," Kenzi accused, and she really admired him for that. "Also, just ruined four bubble-bath fantasies. I'm gonna go sit down before you tell me who this North guy is."

The only question left in Kenzi's mind was who he'd terrified into getting the bus driver job.

"He's a voice actor, really. But he's got this certain charm when he's not playing Nate's dad."

Creepy.

"Nuh!" Kenzi held up a hand, then processed that. "...okay, you have got to go on Maury. Really. I could be your agent," she said, as she got on the bus. "I can get you a deal, I'm sure of it."

"Only if I get to meet Conny Chung!"

Kenzi pointed two gun fingers at him, bang-bang. "We will work this out, Mr. Deadpool."
